This thread is ridiculous.

The OP is linking JRE with a damn F-18 commander for a carrier group and he is talking openly about chasing UFOs.

It’s fricking fascinating and you dipshits are making Art Bell jokes.

Fermi paradox

Is not actually a paradox. It's simply arrogance. Time and space is really vast. That's enough to explain why someone may not have contacted alien life in 0.0000007% of the universe's existence, which is what 10,000 years represents.

They wouldn't be here to observe us. They'd be seeing what all kinds of resources they could mine from our planet.

It would be no different than when Europeans came to the Americas. They didn't care about the native peoples. They just wanted ways to exploit the land for their own financial gain. If the natives helped fine. If they got in the way the killed them.

Art Bell

Do not want to derail this thread as he is not the focus

But he is linked to the current narrative for those who dig into this story. He links to current metamaterial that is being rolled out (strange properties and isotopic ratios that may not be from this planet)

The material links back to him (reportedly)

I was watching to see if this dude was a whackball. He talks like every Naval Aviator that I have ever spoke with to include my Grandpa. He uses his hands to say everything. I believe that this guy saw something that he cannot explain. His most relevant point is that what he saw was in 2004 and it was explained away as our tech. Well its 2019 and we still haven’t seen it.

If you do not know military aviators, especially current aviators, they are really intelligent folks. They boarder on nerds. I think Bob Lazar is a big fake. I think this guy is the real deal.

If they can travel lightyears, they don't need to mine us for anything, they can create it.

And, it's stupid to think that they could accomplish that travel, attempt to clandestinely observe us, but show up on our primitive radar, infrared cameras and be visible to the naked eye.

And have need for standard issued landing lights and hi-int lights.

I don't think you really understand how this works. It's more about the fact that we don't see evidence of life throughout the universe. By now an advanced civilization should have colonized the entire Galaxy

I just can’t imagine these ETs going to work one morning, saying see ya honey in a few light years , hopping in there TicTac and zooming off towards the next galaxy. I think these TicTacs are drones from a mothership in orbit or from undersea.
I hope we handle contact with success and we all may be wildly surprised at what our future will be

None of what you said is a fact. There's a lot of flaws in your logic, but I wish people accepted that knowing what you don't know is a valuable skill.

You mean like alien spacecraft? Accounts of encounters throughout human history?

If you mean "Detect" as in visual. Well, we can't see the planets on the nearest solar systems and we don't know what's on them.. much less the other billion solar systems. As far as receiving signals, we've only been able to detect signals for a very very small fraction of the universe's existence. 100 years or so, which is 1/135,000,000th of the galaxy's existence.

Aliens may have only broadcast detectible signals for a small fraction of time as well, and those times have to align. Otherwise they may have moved on to other forms of communication that are more elusive. Even if there were 100,000 civilizations out there that broadcasted signals, it stills seems mathematically plausible that we haven't detected them.. yet. That's the vastness of time for you.

quote:

By now an advanced civilization should have colonized the entire Galaxy

Says who? There are billions of habitable planets in our galaxy. It would take many millions, if not billions of years to colonize every single one. Sure, they may be able to traverse the entire galaxy in just 200,000 years if they can go .5 the speed of light, but it takes much longer to fan out, build, and engineer colonies while you're doing it. If anything, that makes perfect sense if we're seeing scout ships.

Furthermore, you do not know that aliens want to colonize every planet. We could have been identified as a wildlife sanctuary or something. Keep in mind we're out in the suburbs of our galaxy.

The great filter proposed by the Fermi Paradox is only 1 of many possible explanations. If it would have taken Earth just 15% longer to develop life, we would have been wiped out when the Sun started to die off.

.. and we aren't even diving into the fact that we can't detect most matter in the universe - or the real possibility that there's more dimensions.

Don't get me wrong, I think humanity would be wise to chill the frick out on trying to reach out to ETs.

Thank You John Keel FYS.

And I agree 100% with what you implied. And keel. Interdimensional is the likely scenario at play.

It was a cool episode. If you don’t believe the guy then what can you argue about the video evidence?

I never thought about the lack of propulsion allowing water travel. Thought that was cool.

If you think that video is convincing, I have a list of sci-fi movies that will blow your mind!

Not saying ET does not exist but until he lands in my frontyard in a TicTac, I shall remain skeptical.
