I don't know if Spotify made him do this, but if I had to bet on it, I would say he received a lot of messages from listeners who informed him that what he said was inaccurate. They checked to verify what was true and what he said was not accurate.
Its one thing to issue an apology because something you said offended someone, just to make people happy...
And its another think to apology for putting out information that isn't true. I wish the mainstream media would do this.

I don’t think he actually caved in either. He probably thinks he was actually wrong.
If he were the caving type, he would have caved and apologized already for his criticism on transgender athletes and the whole woke movement. He’s highly critical of both especially of the last few months. So why wouldn’t he apologize for that stuff if he was really caving?
That doesn’t mean he won’t actually cave at some point. He probably will but not yet.

Rogan has spewed unconfirmed crap numerous times and never had to apologize. And he slams conservatives and the religious regularly without contestation, accusing them of unconfirmed things, or just lashing out with no evidence.
That's the issue here. He isn't a newscaster and shouldn't have to apologize, that's part of the charm, he can talk about whatever he wants. But not anymore. I had already stopped listening to him, but yeah now, no chance of going back.
