What did we it matter? No doubt that chic looking for scalps seems nuts, but the end result is the same. It would seem as though both got jacked for going after a dude that was willing to teach Braille. I would hope that in their shoes, I would have decided to take the high road in either instance. Both chics may be whack jobs and both of the guys look like shite bags at first glance. To defend one and not the other, though, doesn't make sense to me.

Because the girl Mixon hit, while supposedly making a racially insensitive remark, wasn't driving great distances looking for a fight. The Berkeley chick even said in her Nazi scalp instagram post that she was "nervous af." You don't say you're nervous as frick unless you know your bad intentions will lead to a fight. The girl in Mixon's situation wasn't looking for it, therefore didn't deserve it. The Berkeley chick was looking for it, and received it.
ETA: I'm not for hitting women, but there are very rare extenuating circumstances. Trying to act like a bad-arse and driving to another state to hypocritically fight "Nazis" is one of those circumstances.

Yes, she was looking for a fight. They both were looking for a fight. You don't insult and attack someone if you are not looking for a fight. They both just didn't think that someone would actually take them up on their offer. Trying to make them out to be different is just your pliable morals.

I was raised being taught never to put my hands on a woman. Ever. But in all honesty I think in a situation like this I might just react by hitting back. I'd immediately regret it, but I doubt I could stop myself before it happened. Just a normal reflex

I don't approve of what she did, but that's irrelevant to my point, entirely irrelevant. I'll repeat, if you think that warranted him hitting her like he did...I think it's fair to say that only people who like to beat women or see women beat would agree with that.

No one in their right mind is going to say his safety was truly threatened.
I think laughing at her for pushing and trying to hit him would be a more normal reflex then a full on swing to knock her out.

That isn't how it happened. Mixon had words with her outside, she walked away and he followed her inside. He then called her friend a gay slur, so she pushed him away. He fakes a punch at her and she slaps him (pretty lightly imo), and then he decks the ever living frick out of her.
Not until later did the assertion that she said a racial slur come out, and pretty much no one corroborates that.
