That is what Quiznos did. Franchises could ONLY buy equipment and supplies from the supply company that the parent company owned, and they kept jacking up the prices.

Yep. PE are vultures and the only thing they know is how to kill businesses and take all the cash and assets and leave the dead, rotting carcass.

What type of sandwich meat should they use that isn’t as you describe?

We have one McDonalds, and one Subway here. No other chains.

And people thing we need more of them. The food trucks are so much better.

Summary for those of us who don’t feel like watching YouTube videos for every piece of information?

Your post is like a click bait article. Or a Larry Leo post.

It's a one and a half minute video. Is your attention span and comprehension so low that you can't watch something that's 90 seconds?

I assume “they” means private equity, indeed the scourge of American business.

But that’s on JMs for selling out. Given their success someone will duplicate their model if they get vultured by PE. And we already have countless sub sandwich restaurants.

But the new Tigerdroppings embedded twitter post/video feature allows you to click on the video without "finding" it or a redirect from the thread

It's a 1:21 video! And the guy in it gives you a pretty succinct summary in that "vast" amount of time.

The replies are a microcosm of how pathetic our society is become. "I cared enough to open this thread. But who has time to watch an 80 second video?! Just tell me what I'm supposed to think..in less than 3 sentences please. kthanxbye"

We are supposed to feel anger towards 18th century slave owners, yet we praise our modern day "private equity " takeovers?

Yeah I like JM just fine but it's no contest between JM and JJ on bread. I think both are decent sandwiches. Jimmy Johns is a little boring, but every JJ I go into is spotless and convenient and toppings/etc. always very fresh. Again, simple and boring, but reliable and not gross considering it's a very fast sub shop.

No objection to people preferring JM, but I think most of the shops are far more poorly run and I don't see how it's way ahead of JJ in any area.

Subway is gross, so that's different.
