I listened to some country growing up and still listen to 90's country, but IMO, it started to go downhill big time around the time Big and Rich took off. Every country song just became a dumb cliche. Then you had Florida Georgia Line that shifted the tide even more. People stopped wearing cowboy hats and went to trucker hats, no more boots but started wearing Jordan's and you ditched the guitar for a rap beat. Jason Aldean started rapping. It was all downhill from there.
