Y'all

This is a total disaster. I have been using this stretch of road for years for my commute. It's a joke right now.

Why would they take this down to 2 lanes given all the problems going on with our interstate system? Maybe the LADOT hates us.

LINK

PS: This isn't getting finished by 2025.

This pretty much sums up GenZ overall. What a shame

They do hate us. And it will never be over.

No other route for me, I’m smack dab in the middle of the bullshite. What are they even doing? Making a lake?

Jefferson Hwy has been a complete wreck since at least the 90s.

It’s stage 1 for the I-10/I-12 loop.

The general public cries because of shitty roads. Then cry when they fix said roads because you're inconvenienced.

“Hey, guys, did y’all see that news article about Jefferson Hwy with that girl crying about traffic?”

What is confusing to me is the slow nature of their work. When did this begin on Jefferson - 2020? Lots of stop-starting and going back on the same stretches to redo sidewalks and curbs.

They’ve torn up half of that stretch to Bluebonnet already, it would seem like they could get the worst of the roadwork done much sooner than 2025. If they could at least finish Jefferson to Bluebonnet, that would be helpful.

Assuming LA DOTD hates everyone, though, I’m sure they’ll find a way to keep barrels up until 2026.

I just don’t understand out of all the pressing needs for EBR roads that that stretch of highway was that bad?

They definitely didn’t plan it very well and doesn’t appear they are working at night to expedite it

That stretch of road was in pretty poor condition. I don't know how poor relative to other areas though.

I think a bigger issue is the shite show that takes place when they “fix” the roads.

Look at Nicholson, they stripped the asphalt from LSU to downtown June of last year. Figured it was smart to get it done before school/football. Should have known better because here we are 9 months later with the same conditions it was in June.

That’s absolutely pathetic and people should lose their jobs. I know I would lose my job if I made no progress on something in 9 months.

Agreed. It sure seems like the new paving would be coming in behind the demo work.

They “fix” roads but do it slow as shite. Same as the Pecue interchange.
