I have consumer reports.

Just another source of info like Car & Driver

Interestingly, i believe that the Wrangler usually has a decent "would you buy again" score.

I just checked for 2025, it was 65%, while 4-Runner was 76% and Bronco as 70%.

For their overall score, the 2025 4Runner was "in test" and the Bronco rated "48".

If you're a woman, Wrangler is ok. Go for it.

You just like the Tesla because it came with the heated, vibrating Dildo option.

I have a 2018 jl rubicon that purchased when we moved to northern az a few months ago.
I enjoy driving it - nice turning radius when parking.
For driving to flagstaff it was cool.
When I drive to phoenix which is about 1.5 hours away I take my suv.

Here's an honest answer:
We had a 4 door wrangler for 9 years, put 82k on it and I found it extremely reliable. Mostly city miles, No major issues, a couple traction control issues, and a leaky oil cooler(common)...easy fixes. But we take care of our vehicles.

It was a fun ride, great in October, November and April. Take the top off and leave it in the garage. The ride sucks so if commuting far, its a drag. My commute was 8 miles each way. It sucks on the interstate and on trips. I'd never take it cross country, but people do.

They leak, especially if you go aftermarket soft top, but its a jeep, so no biggie, they air out well, Hard tops generally don't leak but are a pain to remove top...Maybe the newer ones are better?

Don't do the ducks, that is in fact "gay". The jeep wave is a real thing and ridiculously annoying. I reached an age where I was like, what the hell am I driving, I look like an idiot.. Time to sell and they sell easy, That's the good news, Got 20K for it, Paid 31K 9-years prior new.

Buy it, its fun for a while, when you tire of it, they sell easy.

Jeep owner for 20+ years. Run from the 18-26 JL/JLU. I totaled my 2013 3 years ago should have paid cash for a 16-18 JKU.

The main issues with the new body style are electrical and the 3.6 engine is the best option and it has it issues too.

The main problem with this body style is that Jeep did not prep them correctly at the factory. So they have major paint issues early on. My 2018 has been completely repainted with 4 new doors and tailgate and hood. All paid for by jeep under warranty.

So… absolutely no one cares. At all. But the Jeep Wrangler was the only one that hit me in the heart like a kid at VBS. I ran the numbers (I crunch numbers and analyze statistics for a living, so trust I took depreciation, gas mileage, and average annual repair into account). I am happy with this decision from an emotional and financial standpoint.

Thank all y’all for your insights. It helped me to factor in what to look for in trade offs.

Edit: My only complaint after 2 weeks of driving it is why is the key fob so fricking massive? Got dang, key fob technology has been around for decades. Do better, Jeep.

We have a 2016 we bought new, now has 100k miles on it and never had any issues. Can carry two ocean kayaks with it, one on top and one inside with the back seat down and tailgate window open. It’s not very comfortable seating wise but you get used to it.

Were cool up until libs started decorating the dash with ducks. I had an 86, 2008, 2013. I loved them miss them but I don't identify with today's Jeepers.

Jeep Wranglers hold value better than any other vehicle except the Porsche 911.

MPG is abysmal, but it's tall and heavy and physics is undefeated.

They're very reliable, unless you get the 4cyl.

Enjoy your Jeep,

Drive what makes you happy.

A 40 minute commute in a JL is very doable. Just please don’t do the duck crap

I was in the same boat and every Jeep owner I know advised me against it so I purchased a Bronco and I absolutely love.

20k miles in and so far no issues.

It's a fun ride and I hope it holds up, but if Toyota decides to make a 4Runner with a removable top, I'd switch back.

There you go, that is what matters. I do not want to live in a world, where a vehicle is just a mode of transportation and nothing more. People bragging about their MPG or reliability have no soul. I grew up working on cars with my Dad and is part of my childhood. I want a vehicle I can modify, tweak, break and repair.

I drive a Wrangler 392 now, and 2 years into ownership I get a smile every time I get in that thing to go for a ride. It is just a great version of the Wrangler. It is the most modern car that takes me back to the 69 Camaro I had back in high school. Like muscle cars back in the day, it way too much engine for the vehicle and it wants to kill you . That is what makes it fun.

My kid drives my old 2016 Wrangler and those at the end of the day are tanks. The Jeep is 2-0 against running into a bus and BMW

to commute to work 30-45 min
You’re gonna hate it.

Rough ride, very loud, handles like shite.

Probably one of the worst vehicles you could possibly pick for a relatively long everyday commute. And that’s not even getting into the reliability issues.

But you’re a woman, so you’ll likely do it anyway, so enjoy.

Just a wrong take. My commute is 30 mins. I also drive it several times to Houston and Austin, from Dallas throughout year. A couple trips yearly to Mississippi. They ride fine and have adaptive cruise control to make it a breeze. Are they loud, yes. That is what the radio is for.
