When they opened the bars, the numbers spiked
More specifically, places that border on being dance clubs (Cowboy in Lake Chuck, Tigerland) were confirmed to have contributed to this wave.
There were neighborhood bars with food permits that operated successfully in Phase I without contributing to a spike. These places are now closed.
The neighborhood bars without food permits that opened in phase II, I have not seen where they were contributors as well.
Basically, hanging at the corner pub and not bouncing around table to table or attempting to grind on the group of girls over in the corner (with the usual 3% success rate) is not that big of a concern - and since most of the bars in the state are NOT doubling up as clubs we need to find a way for these to be open.

really starting to think louisiana will be in phase 2 until next year

Also, one person getting tested multiple times counts as multiple cases. Based on that fact alone his numbers are off. It's all a big scam. The virus has been politicized and monitized to the point where you can't believe anything, imho

Been saying this.
At least until a vaccine is out.

I really think they should have just closed the college bars and left all the damn neighborhood and chill bars alone.
Why? are hospitals full of college kids with Covid?

And that would be really sad..... the state is already kind of a mess, but if we stay in phase two that long and they don’t continue the $600 extra payment per week this state is gonna get way worse real quick.......

I do local covid testing using all the methods the Dr. just talked about. I have seen a decrease in positive results over the last 7 days. Being in the medical field for many years, I do believe the masks have contributed to this.
All you clinical science experts downvote away.

Did he address why casinos are safe and bars are not?
I'm sure he got a call from "a guy" who "suggested" that he NOT shut down casinos. If he didn't get it, one of his advisors likely did.

I wish he would throw in the towel and say the only way out of this is heard immunity and lift all restrictions. If someone feels that they are an exceptional risk, they can quarantine themselves or wear a mask if they so please.

Yeah the media there have proven they are clearly allergic to tough questions
Apparently so. However, since he relies on the advice of the doc he puts up there, someone could just bypass JBE and put the doc on the spot. He seems to support that the bars were a problem.
I suspect that they will say something about tracking and having no evidence the casinos are an issue. Guess casinos aren't loud and you don't have to get close to people to hear them talk as you do in bars.....

I agree that the smaller places probably should be allowed to open.
With the bars closed, what is going to happen though is that the kids will be spread out all around LSU at condo’s apartments and houses partying. There is no way that the police will be able to enforce the rules so it’ll be fairly out of hand.
Amongst these kids will be @10% positive with covid. Expect roughly 2,500 Covid positive kids to show up in the next 2 weeks to Baton Rouge Alone. Smaller numbers will be in college towns of New Orleans, Lafayette, Hammond, Rustin, & Monroe all with their @ 10% positive caseload.
Then the partying starts spread out all over the place.
We’re about to see a total clustershuck of covid.
Parents better be prepared

If he hadn't mentioned a word about tort reform, he would have won.
He could have just passed it once he got in office.

For what?
Their kid having a cold?
Kids aren’t taking up hospital beds

This is absolutely what is going to happen. And all these kids will be fine. But JBE will go on the war path.

This mouth breathing, liberal retard, is on an ego trip right now bc he has the power. All this arse clown is going to do is keep moving the goal post. He will not lift restrictions until his dem leaders tell him to do so. He could give a rats frick about the people of this state. him and all his cronies have already made bank on this, and will continue to do so.

Did anyone ask him today how many patients were in the 100+ million dollar convention center hospital?
Posted on 8/4/20 at 5:22 pm to LSUJML
If these college kids have any fricking sense they won’t go get tested, all that will do is frick themselves
If you get sick, stay home until you feel better. Simple. Zero reason to go get tested. Zero
