For those commenting on the music...

There was an argument made last time bars were open that live/load music caused people to lean in toward their friends when talking in the bar to be heard over the music..

... the noise restriction is an attempt is to minimize the “spit splatter”...

That was what I heard last time they brought this topic up on some Houston news....

I’m ordering a boatload of alcohol at 9:55.

Even worse for restaurants.

They can be open any time, and many restaurants are open late night.

But now they can't serve alcohol past 10 even though they could under Phase 2. So why would they stay open later?

They won't.

And people make LESS money.

You saying you think they are going to all of a sudden now start recognizing the bars that got the restaurant licenses as now back on the bar license???? That would be a piss off for sure.
No, they can still be looked at as a restaurant, but they still can't serve past 10pm, and have to close by 11pm.

Great job citizens of Louisiana. As a token of my appreciation I will now add restrictions that weren't there before as positive percentages and hospital numbers have dropped.

Phase 2
Started with bars open then changed to No onsite consumption at bars

Restaurants / businesses 50% capacity with social distancing

Crowd size max 50 people

Phase 3
Onsite consumption at bars in parishes with less than 5% positivity for 2 consecutive weeks with 25% capacity, no one under 21 allowed in
Drinks must be brought to table / no live music / no more than 50 people in outside area

Restaurants / businesses 75% capacity with social distancing & last call at 10 pm

Crowd size max 250 people

ETA
Was crowd size decreased from start of phase 2?

I am totally floored by this.

I don't understand. How is this even remotely logical?

While i agree the 5% is BS and is incredibly arbitrary and there are way better metrics to base this one....once the 9/3-9/9 numbers get on the LDH website several more should be in that number so to speak.

That completely disregards the fact that you have been sitting next to someone at that bar for two hours talking laughing etc. Things like this seem so anecdotal, like some guy said hey what about this and no one said that really will make no difference.

This is up there with football coaches who have been around the players all day, all week, and the whole game having to wear masks on the sidelines.

I would be surprised if most restaurants actually started to enforce the 10pm guidelines

Social distancing requirements were not lowered
Depending on the size of the building they may not be able to increase capacity

This is incredibly misleading....what do you call the stage that we were in before this when consumption was allowed in bars for a good 3-4 weeks.
