If that is the case then the total number of hospitalizations wouldn't be climbing. 1 in one out...

Why would you assume it's 1 in 1 out?

My mom was telling me that a guy at a hospital in Lake Charles was saying they are admitting people for observation, and then turning them out a few days later.

How much of that is going on, I don't know, and I don't know of that is true or not, but that is why I don't put much weight in hospitalizations. We don't know anything about those being hospitalized, except what the people running this show say.

I was told by a LCMH employee that LCMH ICU was up to 19 midweek and by end of week they were having to double up rooms. People not on vents watching people on vents basically dying across the room.

Friend,

Covering the nose is important because when you exhale you exhale particles from your respiratory tract both through the nose and the mouth. If you only cover one orifice, some particles are escaping.

It is for that reason, that in addition to goggles and one of TulaneLSU's Top 10 face masks, I have purchased the following for additional protection for myself and others:

Sam's had these a few weeks back for $5 for a pack of four. They fit great and are actually stylish.

I haven’t been going out much & have only had to wear one twice because of store policy

I may start going out more just to wear one like SWB

If it isn't then that is a sign of increased hospitalizations.

Which means they are holding more people for 'observation' than they were 3 days ago, or 2 weeks ago.

A presser on a Saturday when hes been only having one a week? Yea hes not happy about something. And Pence coming next week. This is all planned 100%.

Wants to make it look and sound so bad down here with Covid then invited Pence to come and see for himself. All planned.

Friend,

I have some Horace Grant goggles that I use when in public now. I haven't tried the face shield yet, but I will update you with how the shield fits over those goggles.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

P.S. If you aren't stocked on Le Sueur peas yet, now is the time.

In all seriousness, I was at City Park earlier fishing with my kid and damn near everyone had a mask on outside who was walking by. Way more people than the last time I was there a week ago. People are ridiculous but if that’s what they want fine. Just don’t bother me.

If he cancels school he better prepare for a rebellion. My kids are going somewhere. I don’t even care where at this point.

Yes but Mayors cannot refuse the order & they are the boss of the police chief

Depends. In some places the police chief is an elected official and absolutely can tell the mayor to get right the frick off.

Deaths, hospitalizations nor vents are anywhere near April levels.

And since we don't know the condition of hospitalizations, but can assume the condition of those on vents, and definitely those that have died, why would anyone follow hospitalizations more than the other 2? Those aren't changed by test numbers either, and are a more definitive measure of the severity of the situation.

Docs are using the vents less now and only if they absolutely have to. Were using them much earlier at the beginning.

I do think we are getting better at treating and was a good reduction of mortality study with Remdesivir this week.
