What’s your proposed plan for Louisiana?

My proposed idea means nothing. You saying that life will get back to normal in a month no matter what JBE thinks is what's comical.

I say start slowly phasing things on May 1st in some form or fashion like others have noted.

This cancelling crap already for the fall is stupid.

Why can't this guy put together a strategy for going back to "normal"?

People in charge are not making decisions based on what is right/wrong for the whole of society

They are making decisions based on what is safest for them personally as a career standpoint. That goes for both sides of the political spectrum

If you open up, every single death will be put on you. Just the way it is now

Faucio yesterday said the hardest part of all of this will be figuring out what reopens first and what doesn't.

If we’re doing fine with the crowds acting like they currently do at Wal-Mart and similar places right now, and we expect it to be even calmer in a month, there shouldn’t be much that needs to stay closed.

100 times this. This is the underlying motive behind every single decision-maker's call. No one is going to be the first to possibly end their career.

Love how everybody hates JBE despite the fact he's basically been mirroring the federal guidelines laid down by Trump.

And it is possible both are wrong.

In your mind you don't get that it isn't a political party issue.

I mean, they’re both trying to make decisions so people don’t die. I don’t think that’s a career move. I thinks that’s a “I’m not a giant pos” move.

Because they both are worried not about what is the right thing to do, they are concerned with what is the right thing to do for their political career

no they arent

If an all knowing genie said this to them

Opening up the economy causes an additional 100k deaths in the near term and political suicide, but then it tapers off and the economy is saved

Or

You stay closed and your political career is saved, but the ramifications are economic ruin and 500k deaths in the coming years and poverty directly related to staying shut down

They are all taking option 2

Trump is making moves that completely go against his party’s usual line of thinking. Yes, everything they do has a potential affect on their career but I don’t think the Trumps and JBEs of them world are basing decisions on their party affiliation.

Now that crazy bitch in Michigan is a whole different story.

Nah, I get it. Most of the this forum (as a whole) does not. My opinion is there is nothing wrong with how either have acted in this situation thus far. I get that there are tons of people who think we should have done nothing. But those people are idiots.

People people are terrified, even his supporters. The stay at home rich Karens of the world vote republican, but they wouldn’t vote for trump if he opens up and then the news post every photo of every death going forward due to “trump not doing anything!”

Is it fair to say that they, along with the vast majority of politicians, are both clowns?
