It’s a terrible place in the middle of the day.

Hearing of the two cops shot makes me think the lift and the cops being there as quickly as they were probably saved countless people. If he didn’t hit the lift he essentially continues plowing through the crowd uninhibited. He also had his weapon ready to go as soon as the cops opened that door, which leads me to believe he likely intended to get out and open fire on the crowd at some point, and NOPD got to him first.
We shite on NOPD but it initially appears they probably saved some lives tonight.

NOPD and state police were right on it and are heroes.

NOPD and state police have a large presence in the quarter now, and it’s honestly become pretty well policed.
Landry and co have made a concerted effort to make the quarter a safe space. Unfortunately, hard to plan for a terror attack.
Will be interesting to see what measures are put in place ahead of Super Bowl, Mardi Gras, etc.

Kudos to the NOPD officers but Chief Kirkpatrick really sounded like an idiot saying “go out and have fun.”

No, it wasn’t terrorism. It was a drunk Mexican probably from the valley

Put it this way, I'd trust them to make decisions more than Latoya will. I understand what you mean though. The feds credibility is gone

OT sleuths can figure out the owner.
Wouldn't be surprised if it's stolen.

Must have picked a lot of fruit and vegetables to afford a Ford Lightning or it was stolen.

This will be the last Super Bowl New Orleans ever hosts. Book it.

More proof New Orleans is just a giant toilet.

Yea. Tough situation. You want to mourn those that lost, but today there is a big event and they are trying to encourage people to get out and let them know they are safe. Probably shouldn’t have said “have fun” in that way. Coulda reassured people without sounding like you have no compassion

Her reaction to Cantrell’s terrirism statement was quite telling. Looking around like “is she allowed to say that? Isn’t anyone going to stop her?”

Well said. Though may have also been some state troopers as well.

Why? Nashville has host the draft on the street at Broadway after their domestic terrorist attack a few years back.

I noticed that too. It was immediate.
