New Years and CFB game, a lot of out of Towners who don’t really know better too. Sad to think you’re out celebrating a new year and it’s your last day

Fox News saying 10 dead, 30 injured.

Awful.

There’s been talk of making the quarter a pedestrian only area for awhile. This will probably spark it. Curious to see what comes of this, hard to imagine terrorists would pick New Orleans but you never know. Could easily be a drunk driver as well.

I just got back from Cannes and Nice France after a nice Christmas with the wife. Back in 2016 some muzzrat killed 89 people with a truck on the promenade right by the ocean in Nice. The city didn’t have any bollards up before the attack and the guy proceeded to drive for a mile and a half mowing people down.

Now the city has bollards up everywhere especially along the promenade specifically to stop this kind of thing from happening again while also providing safer walkways for pedestrians throughout the city. It was noticeable compared to American cities but it did provide a sense of safety on those narrow European streets. New Orleans and the French quarter were one of the first places I thought this would do well in. Hope we see something similar as a result of this.

I know the OT is going to shite on New Orleans for this but if this is a terror attack these literally can happen anywhere.

This just happened in Germany, it’s happened is Wisconsin, and I’m sure it’s happened many places all over that we don’t hear about.

This isn’t your typical New Orleans crime you can warn out of towners about.

It looks purposely covered up. Wonder if video will come out showing it. Kind of looks like a puffer jacket draped over it but also looks like some sort of white paint on it.

I don't normally cry at these kind of videos, but, someone sent me a video that definitely can't be reposted here of the immediate aftermath, and it's horrific.

I hope this dude and whatever accomplices he might have are domed to sleep.

If a terrorist and planned attack, weird to wait until 3am to do it.

I think most likely explanation, not that its the right one...

Whoever was out partying, got into an altercation, and this is how they came back to settle it. Hence the gunfire too.

Still a lot of people out and you can continue your momentum. Guessing if this was done at midnight, probably wouldn’t have made it to far. Also, a much larger police presence at midnight vs 3am

It’s a pickup truck from Texas, what in the world would make you think it’s a rental?

It has to be one of Biden’s protected class. If it wasn’t, the name would be plastered all over the news already. They know who it is. This is horrible.

That's about the time the city drops the bollards to start cleaning

In Nola 3 would still make sense since it’s a city that doesn’t sleep.
