There was a lot of good information shared today, along with some excellent analysis. The OT continues to prove its worth as the world's premier forum for discussion of these types of events. So to all who contributed anything meaningful, thank you

This thread is incredible. I've just devoted the last 2 hours of my life to read every single post on all 160 pages...Bunch of folks been calling for a cliffs notes, so I got y'all.

The amount of misinformation and straight up wrong, not even close to correct, "facts" being thrown out is impressive. Many even have links from what are supposed to be reliable sources. The truck was apparently rented using an app called Turo which is basically a private car rental app, think an AirBnB for cars. The truck might and might not have been driven across the border, but not by the suspect. There were up to 4 accomplices who may have helped to place bombs around the french quarter, none of which were ever detonated, except by police. Then there were no longer 4 accomplices, so who really knows. The dead suspect is an American born man from Texas who served in the military until he managed to screw up and get discharged. He has multiple ex wives and has done time, likely due to domestic violence. His ex wife's new husband has been interviewed and said within the last couple years, he has gone crazy, full on Islam "snack bar" as it was described, along with other colorful terms by plenty of posters in this thread, and even took a trip to Cairo within the last year, where apparently the headquarters of some radical islam group is located. The names of some of the 15ish dead victims are starting to be released, and the other 25-30 injured we still don't know a whole lot about.

Then you've got guys arguing over Christianity vs Islam, 9/11 conspiracy theorists, some dude that would have stopped the truck dead in its tracks and apprehended the guy all with his bare hands rather than post a video in portrait mode and is then prepared to fight every other poster on the post, extremely graphic videos of people getting run down in the streets, a comical run down of our clown government officials attempting to hold a press conference, folks actually pissed that the football game is delayed by one whole day, 1/6 attacks, Trump vs Biden, a guy from Nebraska that actually thinks anybody on this site cares about what he thinks, somebody tracking the flight data of FBI groups, the lunch and supper habits of every Louisiana/New Orleans government official, a drunken poster who apparently walked past the truck on Canal and missed being a part of the news story by about 10 minutes, somebody who completely forgot that the Ware of 1812, the Cold War, or the Kennedy Assassination all did in fact happen, and a 20 year tiger droppings poster (impressive, btw) that still hasn't learned how to use the quote function, and probably a dozen other irrelevant things that I've forgotten during this process.

I love this place, in all of its shite-show glory. Hope this helps

If you think the federal government can do all of that within 15 minutes of a sketchy video being posted to Twitter/FB, you have a lot more faith in them than I do. I believe that the NSA computers are monitoring everything. But I question their ability to isolate truly “meaningful” events quickly, the speed at which that information gets shared within the government, and the FBI’s ability to act on that information (particularly when it’s a US citizen).

TBF there are around 50k soldiers on Bragg, give or take, and several thousand civilian employees. Not to mention dependents. Their both being there doesn't mean much.

No way in hell that was a one man job. The guy responsible was the guy in the car behind Kennedy. LBJ

Anyone with half a brain knows it was Carlos Marcello and Woody Harrelson’s dad who killed JFK .

I believe a political statement was being made. He chose the cyber truck and parked it in front of the Trump hotel for a reason
