I’m on day 8. Day 4 with plaquenil and z-pack. I’m hoping to turn a corner soon. No cough. Healthy and under 35. Confirmed positive test. I had flu in February, which is only other time I’ve had more than a cold in almost a decade. This is much worse for me.

You must not be in Nola anymore if they are treating you with plaqueil and a z pack in the ambulatory setting.....

You have to be in the hospital and either very sick, or in the hospital with high risk factors to be getting that combo here

Long story short it makes a soup of mucus and damaged cells that make it easy for a bacterial secondary infection to start. The antibiotics help prevent that.

Azithromycin also has an anti-inflammatory effect that helps as well.

I think I may have had it month ir so ago and didn’t know it. I was tired and my wife was telling me every day for about a week I was breathing hard in my sleep and that it was annoying her. I didn’t realize it...... I didn’t seem to be breathing hard during the day. No fever.... had a cough but seemed like nothing because I always cough due to allergies and this didn’t seem any different. I may have survived the Corona.

I am. Dr is with Crescent City Physicians (LCMC coverage). She said their protocols are changing twice a day. They are doing the combo only once you have a confirmed positive. CVS had it in stock $9 each prescription. The runs the meds gave me the first two days was like clockwork every 3 hours. They also ask you to only take Tylenol if you can’t handle the fever or headache. They say the fever is actually helping fight pretty well.

yikes

Not to scare you, but at 35 and healthy the combo drug is more of a risk for you long term than covid going back the numbers

Neither are high risk though

Maybe my doc trusts us to catch any problems early because my wife and I are both in healthcare and very attentive to slight changes.

Also I was on day 6 with occasional increased WOB. She said she didn’t like that she wasn’t seeing any signs on improvement.

There was also a lot of discussion about those administering the tests potentially not swabbing deep enough and therefore not getting enough of the virus.

I didn’t say false negatives didn’t exist.

I said the bullshite that “many of the early tests especially were made to err on the side of negative as opposed to positive” was wrong and your attached link says nothing to support that.

I had a sore throat Monday and Tuesday and now just have a cough mainly at night. Some chest feelings possibly. Zero fever.

I’m assuming allergies is what I’m dealing with

Terrified of that test so I’ll avoid that at all costs

One of the things that makes corona distinct from cold and flu is the response it invokes in the deep lungs.

Long story short it makes a soup of mucus and damaged cells that make it easy for a bacterial secondary infection to start. The antibiotics help prevent that.

Thank you for providing a clear and intelligent response to a question instead of just down voting.

Are you saying the tests are perfect or they err on the side of being positive?

I said they are erring on the side of negative, everything I have posted have said that.

Why do I need to post an article from weeks ago when current information is still saying the same.

I was tested. Was exposed by a co-worker who was coughing her lungs up on that Friday claiming allergies. Frankly, I was surprised. Got tested for flu first. When I went in and answered the questions, I wasn’t aware my co- worker had tested positive. I answered that I went to Endymion 30 days prior. Freaked out and gave me a Rx script to get tested. Rather than wait in line and because I couldn’t fax the script to the testing site, I was able to go to a friend’s clinic who tested me through a private lab.
