Glad to hear you are doing well! It sounds like your situation was much more serious than mine, but I was declared cancer free around Thanksgiving of 2020. I was thrilled the treatment was over, but still fricked up. fricked up and grateful, but still fricked up. It's a trial, and it wears on you. But no cancer, so I've got that going for me!

Take care and be well. It sounds trite, but cancer does suck.

Bowdown, if it is determined that you do have prostate cancer, that is far from the end of the world. If the cancer is contained within the gland, and not leaked out, with either surgery to remove the gland or radiation treatment...my choice...the survival rate is between 85% - 90%. As my radiologist put it, I will probably die with it, not because of it. If not metastasized, prostate cancer is the "best" cancer to get. FWIW, I had zero side effects from the radiation.

As a friend's father put it, "Prostate cancer is the Boy Scout of cancers. You're going to be alright."

Prostate cancer kills an alarming number of American men, but many, many more survive it. All things being equal, I'd have rathered not experienced it, but I know I'm fortunate to not had a more serious cancer.

And you're right, if the cancer is within the prostate, you'll probably be fine.

The biopsy, and then the Bone Scan, CT, and MRI while staging the disease caused more anxiety in me than the actual treatment.

This thread made me nervous so I went into the office bathroom to do a self check. Ended up aroused but I don't think I have cancer yet.

I've lost my tan, the top of my head is super white. Its so sad looking to see the difference from last summer to this summer - I look like I've aged 20 years.

what is the prognosis for regaining your physical health? Skin, muscle tone, hair, strength etc?

is there PT or a regimen to work on that?

congrats on your remission and all the best positive vibes your way

That’s fantastic news. I’ve watched my FIL suffer in the same way you have over the last six months. His chemotherapy did not work and we’ve moved on to CAR T cell therapy. He was also extremely healthy until one day out of the blue he wasn’t. I’m very happy to hear you made it through.

frick cancer!
