The older I get the more of a premium I put on getting a high quality night of rest. Cutting out alcohol, no caffeine after 5p, and no screens for 30 minutes before getting into bed has helped a lot.

As i get older, sleep is far and away the #1 thing for me.. as for diet, i try to mix in a salad every now and then.. quit drinking years ago.. but if i dont get a good night’s sleep, i feel subhuman all day, just a totally miserable grouch .

Yes, by weekends I mean Friday, saturday and Sunday.

Monday were miserable. Tired, aggravated, no drive.

Tuesday a mix of a little better, but still not my self.

Finally Wednesday feeling a little normal, and then.....wash a repeat. Miserable.

I recently decided to cut down on drinking massively. I was a every weekend drinker for years.

I drank the Saturday before last and nothing this week. I am sleeping better, not aggravated/anxious, appetite is back to normal, stomach back to normal, energy back to normal, drive back to normal. I am present with family now, getting things done. Work is improving.

I'll still have some for certain occasions, but it really can cripple your life just to feel "good" for a few hours.

Happy Monday - Hope this helps someone else also.

Get down to zero drinks and youll feel like superman.

You'd be surprised. I'm telling you I'm seriously healthier than most. Seldom sick. My immune system is through the roof. I'm almost 50. I feel 30.

I couldn't have a few, it was always "binge" drinking. It's still difficult for some things like going to a wedding reception, etc.. But 99.9% of the time it's not even noticeable that I don't drink anymore and I certainly feel better not dealing with regular hangovers.
I was not drinking till I was super drunk or anything, but would have a few beers or a few drinks every other week r so. , I drank on New Years Eve, stayed up too late and felt like shite. Havent had a drink since, Saturday wife and I stopped to get a road beer after a long day with the kids in the sun. The road beer is my favorite beer ever, and was looking forward to it...I drank half of it. Something has changed. Hell, Mardi Gras ball season is here and I am not booking rooms, rides or other shite, just going to not drink.

Oh great! Some anonymous person on the internet isn't a lush. Congrats on being a normal person.

Now try to go two weeks without posting personal shite nobody cares about.

Grew up when drinking age was still 18 so partied a lot when younger.

I liked to drink and still do occasionally but trying to cut back now when not at a social outing.

Was always a happy drunk when partying and it has never really caused any issues in my life, I know that’s not the same for everyone - my brother had more issues with it.

Cutting back for health reasons as I’m on a health kick lost a lot of weight last year and working out regularly again.

It helping you sleep is not for real they say:

Developed an allergy to most domestic beers (makes me sneeze) so that helps, when I do drink occasionally it’s imports (Guiness extra stout, Dos Equis, Modelo) and bourbon rather than beer most of the time.

Make the switch to Delta 9 gummies (did LA try to ban?). You'll fell much better, sleep like a king and no hangover.

I think there's a bill in MS to ban them.
