In N.O. your car would get booted & with a warrant for outstanding tickets waiting for you, no get out of jail free card for you. If on a Friday, you get to be a guest of Orleans' Parish Prison for the weekend. Lots of friendly people waiting for you.

The only time I have ever been arrested was for dui and got my license suspended for 6 months. I continued to drive because I pretty much had to (work and daughter being the main 2 reasons). I got pulled over twice. Once for speeding and not wearing a seatbelt. I told the officer I had no idea my license was suspended. Gave me a ticket for the seatbelt violation. Then I was illegally parked at John Wayne airport waiting for my mom. They made my mom drive when she got to the car. Yes, I am a moron.

It’s not that odd. I was once pulled over by a plain narcotics agent for expired plates. He told me to get them renewed and let me go. Dude was nervous as hell for some reason. Same guy pulled me over again 2 weeks later. Had his boys with him and acted like he wanted to fight. Their supervisor pulled up and waved them off.
White privilege I reckon.

Were you in an area where drugs are sold openly? Or a rough neighborhood? If not I think your experience is odd too? Also Are you black? Just wondering if it might be a racial issue that causes what we think is normal or not

Lmao...no I’m not black. I was actually turning into the drive of a private hs school at 3:30pm to train some players going off to college.
It’s not odd, they key on certain things that are common with people who deal with drugs. One being expired tags. The others I’m not sure about. I think my plates were nearly a year expired, and I’d just kept forgetting to go to the dmv.
Roughly a small town, 15k. So small, in fact, the second time I passed and noticed their car just prior to entering a bottleneck. Dude also spotted my vehicle. Once I drove through and back to 4 lanes, they raced up to pull me over. Ole boy was livid I hadn’t renewed my plates yet, all I could do was laugh. Told him to do what he had to do. That’s when the supervisor pulled up
Pretty sure the second time they were just bored as hell on a Friday night. The first time he likely legit thought he may have had someone because he was really nervous and tried to hide it.
