It’s pretty pathetic that two weeks off work has most of the country going nuts

Everybody always gives this two week timeframe, as if these measures are likely to just stop after two weeks.

It will affect every industry if this drags out too long.

that's why i said it's a snowball

as lower tiers of workers stop getting income, less money will be circulating. that's going to trickle up i don't care what industry you're in

if it's a "two week" timeframe, we have a little over a week left

Well, the market drops have already affected the "up" sector. I've had active deals called off because of the markets.

Went through this in 2008-09.

No you didn’t. That was an economic collapse due to market forces. This is an economic collapse due to overreaction and the government shutting the economy down.

This is the issue no one wants to address. All these steps being issued for something that has killed so few people, next season when the flu is killing thousands, do we do it again? When the next virus is discovered is it 'Well, it worked last time. Have to do it again.'

We're destroying the majority of people's lives for something that has a survival rate of 99.8% for most all of the population. Most people don't even develop symptoms. But it's fine, you may develop a cold, but it's better to destroy the country financially just in case.

It's not panic, it's people pissed off their lives are getting ruined.

Have you seen how many people were out partying this past weekend? It’ll be two weeks from then before we have a decent handle on how bad it will get.

Actually one of OweO's better posts. It reads more like a Facebook op-ed by a soccer mom who regularly posts inspirational quotes but he is a voice of reason on the OT, I upvoted.

When does the government shut down mail, UPS, FedEx and Amazon deliveries?

You know it’s coming.

Wow. You've determined the precise date and time that COVID-19 began spreading here? Impressive.

you ban package delivery and you're just increasing the chances of riots exponentially

They’ve already closed down restaurants and bars. You think they give a shite about riots?

This can't be said enough. I hate that people are dying of this, but you read the stories and almost all of them are people who were about to die of something else anyway. There will be exceptions of course. Meanwhile, I read that over 80 people died of the flu last week and no one seems to give a shite about that.
