5th circuit has already said we are quickly approaching a point where the above logic becomes a dragnet, and with every new camera installed, that point gets closer. Ironically, Flocks best strategy may be to simply stop growing if it wants to survive constitutionally.

I would be curious if there has been any instances of criminal behavior happening there.
Most states have laws prohibiting convicted pedos from going within x feet of areas where children gather. Seems like we should have people monitoring whether they comply.

There was another thread today featuring the Flock Condor, which is a multi directional camera to capture images of people just as our Ring doorbells do.
Apparently it’s popular for recreational facilities to use.
The thread was about it being used on a private golf course.

They did. The incident in your linked article proved exactly that.
In that case the 1 in 3 were precisely because the data entered into NCIC and whatever state system California uses was entered incorrectly.
The plate reader rate was accurate. The plates matched the “authoritative source” of data - the law enforcement systems agencies have been using for decades.
It revealed the bigger problem was bad data that had nothing to do with Flock cameras. It became a problem because officers were finally attempted to make use of the data without knowing their own error rate.
