Smashing car windows to rescue pets and children now legal

This can only end well for everyone involved..

quote:

According to the act, if the vehicle is off and locked and you believe an animal to be in imminent danger, you can follow these steps: -Once you've determined that the owner is nowhere in sight, the first thing you need to do is call authorities or your local animal control. -Now you can break the window and free the dog. Then you must leave a note with your contact information, why you broke into the car, and that you've contacted local authorities. -Lastly, you need to take the animal out and sit with it somewhere safe until help arrives.

Great. Only a matter of time before some subdivision wife is letting my dog out of the bed of the truck because "you're mean and cruel and the law says I can save this dog"

Why do i feel like some stupid fight videos are gonna show up online?

Even if the person with the car is in the wrong, this will get stupid

Car thieves and kidnappers rejoice!

More children get kidnapped at the grocery store than anywhere else.

In my experience that particular demographic isn’t very fond of dogs. They’d probably be too scared of the dog to go near the car.

I think it was more that the law didn't specifically say you could, so you could potentially end up in a lawsuit over the broken window. Now, if someone wants to sue you for the costs to replace their window, you've got the backing of the law as a defense against lawsuits if you follow all the steps.

I've never understood leaving a kid in a car.

But I leave my German Shepherd Dog in the truck all the time with the windows down. He's a great security system.
