Northeast folks
In Northern NJ every house sell has attorneys involved
Do you have that in your area? I hate the process.

You work in the city?
Nope, we just go there to visit. Joe's might not be the best, but if we are gonna be in Midtown for shopping, lunch or whatever, it's a pretty good choice.

There is a difference in dying WITH COVID and dying FROM COVID but you'd be hard-pressed to get hospitals to report it accurately because they are incentivized not to since they get federal dollars for every COVID case and death.
Seems like this would be important.

Same with my wife's job. Their open office plans got killed as well.

Top 4, all Northeastern liberal states. Surprising.

NY and NYC media coverage is the model to observe once the USA does finally succumb to Marxist operations to take control, IMHO. What I mean is that, no matter how disastrous and destructive the Marxist Government's policies become, mass media will still cover the Govt in nothing but the highest praise and applause. The masses will get NOTHING resembling accurate and truthful reporting about their own Government.
THIS is what is on the horizon for EVERY American. It is very concerning.
Once the Govt begins serious control over the Internet, We the People will be reduced to, what . . . maybe getting some truthful info from talking to fellow citizens on Ham Radio? That is until the Marxist-controlled Federal Communications Commission shuts down all of the dissident voices broadcasting on that part of the electro-magnetic spectrum.
The USA is in deep Kimchi. TRUMP and his Movement are our only chance - and I very often feel like we are Outnumbered.

Sweden hardly did "nothing", they canceled HS and college, all public gatherings, etc, but they never went full shut down like Spain or Italy, which does make them an interesting case.
Sweden is a country of about 10,000,000 people with its largest city being Stockholm, which has a population of 2,400,000 in its entire metro.
New York City has double the population of the entire country of Sweden in its own Metro area. 20,000,000 people reside in NYC’s MSA.
These are apples and oranges.
Sweden is also quite large. In fact, it’s larger than the state of California. Which has almost quadruple the number of people living in it than Sweden.
Again, apples and oranges.

Yeah but the problem is that the CDC lives in a very sterile and non-practical world in which their solution might make medical sense as a response to combat it, but there's no way you're gonna get the nation to stand behind it. Like a complete fricking shutdown.
For starters, we can't afford it. We would all go into an economic depression that would dwarf the Great Depression.
Agreed. Which is why we need better contact tracing and more testing to make sure we aren’t spreading it needlessly. The Fed of St. Louis told us what we needed to do months ago in order to return to normality and we haven’t gotten close to doing it.
Shut downs need to be surgically implemented, not done like a damn sledgehammer. We can’t afford massive shutdowns of even minor cities. We need to be shutting down groups of communities as outbreaks occur and then opening those back up. But we can’t do that because we have totally fricked the testing up.

Basically the virus ran through everyone that was susceptible to the virus i.e. did not have natural T cell immunity.
It's entertaining how if anyone says something you guys disagree with, you immediately demand links and data, but then you go ahead and suggest things like herd immunity was reached in a metro area of 20MM....and that's the sole reason for the decline in cases in NYC. Do you have any data whatsoever to back up this suggestion?

Take a look at the CURRENT deaths per capita, which speaks to how slammed they got and what they've gotten it down to. Tells a slightly different story.

You have to be kidding. Their daily Covid death toll has been in single digits for the last week. They are done with it.

Do you think New York handled their response to Covid well? Yes or no?
Posted on 7/20/20 at 3:12 pm to Chucktown_Badger
so, in your mind they handled it well?

The top 4 most dense urban areas in the US are in California, a state that as a whole has roughly 1/3rd the deaths of just NYC, much less New York State as a whole (1/5th). Density does not explain New York's situation.
