It's 2019. Is your outlook positive, negative or neutral?

I'm not talking about the email software. I'm talking about your general attitude to life.
I'm trying to be positive, but I've had the positive attitude in the past, but it didn't result in things getting any better. So at the present I'm feeling sort of neutral. I'm expecting more of the same and to me that is a pretty sad, almost depressing outlook.
Like so many, I will be starting to diet and exercise. But that's just a repeat of past new years. More of the same. Of course, it's better to do it than not do it.
I guess it's about actually taking action, doing something different.
I know I'm not alone on this. I have ideas and things I want to do, but if I'm honest with myself, I probably won't do them. And that's sad as frick.
What's stopping me? Fear of failure? Is it that simple?
I'm thinking the solution is saying frick it to the positive attitude and just start taking positive actions. The positive attitude will come later.
Or is it just finding our peace with God, like Lieutenant Dan? I am bitter with God, but not as much as I used to be. I believe that God works all things for our good, for the good of the church, but that doesn't mean he guarantees us a successful, happy life. In the end, it worked out for Lieutenant Dan, but that was just a fricking movie.
Thoughts, comments and your experience is welcome. I know I've come to the right place.

I'll continue to kill it, not a big deal.

It's this.
And not just doing something different that you're comfortable with... it's getting outside your comfort zone where the real changes are made.

Don't judge your life by circumstance....positivity is definitely a choice, and it takes a journey to get there.

My outlook is as positive as I can be. It makes me sad to read your post because you don't realize the gift you have. I have terminal cancer and now I try to make every day the best I can. All my life I kept thinking when X happens I will find peace and happiness but if it came to pass I was chasing the next thing I thought would make my life complete. I had/have a great husband, a fantastic job but kept on chasing, something (no, I was not messing around). Now it's too late and I realize it was right in front of me and I should have appreciated things more.
I know this sounds like a lot of cliches' but it is true. Enjoy your life, family, friends and good times when you can. You just never know.

Great attitude. My kids lost two grandparents and their dog of 15 years to cancer this year. (2018)
I am confident that 2019 will be better and I am keeping a positive attitude.

My personal life is at a crossroads. Like never before, the next year will tell the tale for the rest of my life. I’ve been a crazy steady guy for decades and for once I’m on real infirma. So I’d describe my outlook as WARY.

Cautiously optimistic and nervous. Taking a pretty big leap professionally this year and excited for the long term prospects, but it’s always a risk.

Whether we like it or not, we create our own reality by the way we view things. Pay no attention to distractions as well as negative people. Stay positive, you are on the right track.
Happy New Year
