It has taken a year for a DOTD employee to determine how many miles of refectors were damaged. Does anyone else here think they could probblay do that job in a couple of weeks, if not days?
They could have probably looked up how to determine it on Youtube and had it done in a week.

while I'm complaining, the road lines on the surface roads in BR are non existant. No one knows where to stop for a light. Cars are constantly veering into other lanes. Driving at night is dangerous AF.

Tyrone, Jerome, Darius and Jaquan...... pair up in a truck and ride down the interstate and count how many reflectors are missing. We need this done by Friday.

Do you want roads open ASAP or do you want to save the reflectors? You can't plan for snowfall in Baton Rouge. It takes time to get a proposal, budget, actual funding and the project together. Baton Rouge isn't the only area in the state with needs

I want roads to open up as soon as possible, and if they’re damaged in the process, I want them fixed as soon as possible. Common sense tells anyone here that it should not take this long to get this minor roadway deficiency fixed. Sorry you work for the government.

Mallett said the repair process has taken time because the state first had to secure federal funding before putting the work out for bid.
Welfare Queen State. Everything is government tit.

They dont, because they install snow plowable markers which definitely cost more to install than regular raised markers. LA should look at those in north Louisiana at a minimum.

I'm wondering where the f the road lamps are along most of the 10-12 split. I cant see much of anything around here anymore I just stay home

A bunch of them came down from Arkansas.

Especially on College Drive and also on Jefferson Highway near Town Center. It’s really hard to tell where the lanes are. It would seem like an easy fix.

I thought BR was someone's mom

Don't you come up in here with your logic while we are biatching like a bunch of hens.

State officials say the problem dates back to last year's rare winter snowstorm, when snowplows damaged thousands of reflectors across the region. Along stretches of Interstate 12, some reflectors that should be embedded in the roadway can now be found on the shoulder instead.
Complete bullshite. It has been a third world issue in this state for a long time before the snow storm. MFers can't stripe a road straight to save their lives, and reflectors and lights are purely happenstance. This sounds like a cry for money by conveniently finding an "act of God" cause.

Lived in Colorado for 30 yrs. Lots of plowing. Never a reflective lane marker in sight. Everyone got along just fine. What’s wrong with drivers down here…

See above. Center and lane lines are painted with reflective paint here. We have no reflectors.
You get ten inches of rain per year compared to our 65
Reflectors are important.
Worst offending state is oregon.
Mountain passes have no guard rail, no reflectors, and no lines.

Interstates in Alabama are also missing about 99% of the reflectors. When they repave a stretch of interstate here the new reflectors only last about a week.

I can't remember DOTD using snow plows.
I don't recall ever seeing one in Louisiana...ever.
The damn bulldozer tread rumble strip should be enough to let someone know they are running off the road.
