If nissan exits the electric car market, they upright a major part of their losses. Dump the cvt transmission, fire ceo, stay out of politics
The bad decisions started at the top.
The only good decision they have made recently is bringing Patrol to USA in 2025 armada pro4x

The hate for nickelback is weird. Are they cool? No. Are they super talented? Not really. Is Far Away a good song and you’re a bitter bastard if you turn it off immediately? Yes

I think the songs are good. What I don’t like is the fake vocal fry. Guess that’s their signature vocal sound.

This is a great example of a great topic ruined by a shitty OP.

I’d really like to learn what is costing Nissan 4.5 billion a quarter but OP was too busy trying to be a comedian.

I can't think of a single market segment right now where Nissan is clearly doing well

The mid-size truck market with the Nissan Frontier?

Though with increased competition in that market in recent years, the success has probably taken a hit.

investing heavily on electric cars that aren’t particularly good and certainly not popular.

Stupidest thing companies have done in the last 40 years. Go hybrid and slowly move from there

Nickelback is a great band, and people only give them shite because 1 person did it on the internet 5 years ago. Now it's just a cool thing to do. Nissan makes ugly cars no one wants.

It would be Fiat Chrysler, dumb arse. They sell a ton of cars even though their quality is crap.

I have a 2025 Sentra as a rental this week and the thing’s a total POS. The entertainment system feels like it’s from the early 2010s. The interior’s fit and finish feels extremely cheap even for a budget friendly car. I don’t see how this car competes against other low cost options.

That’s great. They’re still awful.

This board took the “lol only fat black women drive nissan!” meme which isn’t even really a meme, and ran with it.

Maybe too late. They sunk a lot of cash into EV products only to get their asses kicked by Tesla and General Motors.

That should have gone into hybrid powertrains for their core products like Honda and Toyota.

Or into making their products decent, which is what Mazda has been doing.

Problem is....you'd like a Civic, Corolla, Trax, Jetta, or Elantra better if you were spending your own money. That's what the buyers out there are going for instead of Nissan.

And the Sentra is one of their better products.

This is kind of my attitude when I have to rent an Altima. I hate driving them. The infotainment sucks, the styling sucks, it doesn't ride particularly well....and if the engine is decent, the CVT Nissan pairs with it makes it feel like a buzzy POS. The only good thing about Nissan's mainstream products is that the seats are reasonably comfortable.

When I have to rent, I make a bee line towards any other car over the Altima. Malibu, Rav4, Santa Fe, Camry, Sonata - all better options for rentals and certainly for private purchases.

The newer Rogues might be good. Haven't driven them. It's their best seller.
