Care to explain yourself?
Oh wait weren't you the guy advocating for NPs? I'm sure they are less of a scam because they have less training. Makes sense

Nurse, damn you for posting those things! Time lost.
Our new interns have been good so far, though not expecting much. They're overwhelmed, but we had a busy day so far. Think a gang war is starting back up.
I'm not happy with some of the upper levels on the team. Orders not being placed. has delayed treatment on a few people (not life threatening, but delays surgery). Try to give them so leeway, but going to have to start micromanaging.

Doctors are arrogant and the history of medecine and the nature of the profession suggests they should be humble, conservative, and eager for knowledge.
As an aside
What do you call the person who graduated last in med school?
Doctor

"This patient fell off a barstool. The exam is unreliable, so we definitely need CTs of the head, face, cspine, tspine, lspine, chest/Abd/pelvis, plus CTAs of the chest neck and lower extremity runoff."
Come to think of it, this is not much different than the seasoned er attendings all year long.

month is always scary cause you never know what kind of interns you will get. But July 1st just takes that to whole other level.
ER story. Years ago. Some poor girl started her night on call. First year resident "medicine on call". And her first night. Just a GP resident. She's down there a few times when somebody asked her her first name. Her serious response, "Doctor."
That poor dumbass got called in or called every 20-30 minutes for a week worth of shifts. It was nurse on Doctor violence and female on female violence combined. There's an easy way, and there's a hard way.

Nurses in teaching hospitals can be real bitches. Especially to female Docs. Not even the RNs looking for their DRS degree have to nice to them

Yep. This girl (using horse race metaphor) didn't just come out of the gate poorly. Her horse shite while in the gate and stepped in it before ever leaving.

Things went fine today, as they always do on July 1. Interns are nervous, understandably, but their knowledge far than exceeds what's necessary for day-to-day stuff.
I'm a micromanager and let them know to run stuff by me at first, though.
Interns are fine. They're scared shitless of everything and probably asked too many questions from upper levels.
PGY-2s are the one you should be scared of. Arrogant fricks have one year of medicine and think they know it all.

Wait til the 4th.. Hospitals will be packed, if I am not mistaking its the busiest day of the year in the ER.
