Hippocratic hypocrite
You seem to be equally entrenched on here (likely listening to a police scanner for ambulance activity while posting)...

I love that one as well(the pain addict one and the lab ones are my favorite though). I follow him on fb. He does live feeds like at least twice a day.

Sometimes you gotta break a few eggs if you want to make an omelet. If a few patients have to die in order for a doctor to learn to be a doctor, welp..I guess that's the price we pay.

Nurses think they are better than doctors. That's a given.
My favorite people are the respiratory techs. If you don't follow the groups on facebook, you are missing a gold mine of narcissism by individuals who should just be thankful they aren't on a pole.

I'm about to strangle a damn RT. They keep just holding resp meds because they dont think its necessary or its a duplicate. I'm like dude, if I thought it was a duplicate, I'd get it d/c'd. stop fricking shite up

I don't think that at all. For the most part I have total respect for all doctors(including interns) and know my place on the totem pole. However...if a doctor orders something that sounds questionable...it is my duty to my patients to at least ask for an explanation for the order before I just blindly carry it out.
If they were to order something that was incorrect and I just blindly followed those orders...my license is also on the line if something bad happens to the patient as a result of that order.

There is some truth to that though.
They will get all pissy at me when the docs order Albuterol 2.5mg SVNs q2hours on a kid.

No they don't, and no it's not.

Things went fine today, as they always do on July 1. Interns are nervous, understandably, but their knowledge far than exceeds what's necessary for day-to-day stuff.
I'm a micromanager and let them know to run stuff by me at first, though.
I love when nurses say this shite.

Yeah I don't understand that logic.
A nurse wanting an order clarified is not thinking they know better than the doctor. They want to learn as well. There have been plenty of times where I'll see some odd med order and come to find out....it's because new research has shown that it is a more effective way to go. When a doctor explains that to me, I'm thankful for the new knowledge.
Sometimes the doctors don't give the nurses enough credit when it comes to knowing when a patient is going bad. Nurses with several years of experience really do sorta have this sixth sense to them about it. You don't know exactly what is wrong, you just sense that something is not right with the patient and it worries you. If you have an ICU nurse with 30 years of experience telling you that something is just not right with a patient....you listen to that nurse.

Because it is true. If the doctor writes the wrong dosage of an antibiotic for the kid(say it's twice the amount) and the nurse or pharmacy didn't catch on the error and the nurses gave several days of the med....and the family sued the hospital cause of harm that came to the child because of the error, the nurse is going to court as well, believe that. And the nurse could face disciplinary action by their state board of nursing. The hospital will gladly throw the nurse under the bus by saying "well he/she should have double checked the dose first and clarified it with the doctor".

Nurses just change bed pans quit inflating your position.

How many nurses do you know that have ever lost their license?
Personally never heard of a nurse losing their license for something like that.
ETA: Here's a sample note from lsunurse:
Notified MD of [something pointless]. No new orders received.
She can't risk losing that license, you know.

Agreed. They're either trolling, simple minded, or clueless as to what the nursing profession is all about.
