I remember my feet getting burned so bad on sidewalks and having jump in the grass to prevent 2nd degree burns as a kid in the 70s/80s

We had regular afternoon rain. We haven’t had that this summer.

Yup. That’s been the biggest difference at least in New Orleans.

We’ve always had the afternoon rains to provide some cooling and over cast skies in the summer. This year there’s been very little of that.

I remember in 1954 it was very hot and my buddy Jimmy dared me to stick my pecker on a metal pole. It was so hot it got stuck in the pole for like 25 seconds and burnt my skin.
So that proves that it’s always been this hot

I'm 45 and everyone I knew had AC. We played outside all day and yes it got over 100 almost every summer. I will say that I don't remember it being this many days in a row but I can't say I paid that much attention. Its summer, it's hot. Carry on.

Our AC guy has been doing this over 40 years and he said he's never seen anything like this summer.

Those guys have to be making insane money.
But on the flip side, I imagine some owners are having a damn hard time keeping their staff. Saw a guy the other day commenting on social media that he would love to help some of the people in our neighborhood with their urgent issues, but he had three people quit on him in the past two weeks.

Baw…the climate is cyclical. There are solar cycles as well that the media fails to mention. Volcano activity contributes too.
It’s past time that the world tax the shat outta “Big Volcano for all the greenhouse gasses released!!!!!!!!

This isn't religion. This isn't about belief.

I don’t remember this many days of temps over 100 in one summer ever and I’m 61.
I don’t pretend to know it’s cause.

Science changes daily. Always take the science with a grain of salt, because it's about to be disproven.

Wtf school did you go to?

I'll just say you're full of shite before the answer

Tangipahoa Parish didn't get them until 84 or 85. Some of the LSU dorm didn't get AC until the early to mid 90's.

July was supposedly the hottest month ever in the US on average since temperatures have been kept...in my area it ain't got any better. I remember doing 2 a days back in the late 70's and early 80's and it being in the mid 90s but I swear it wasn't as hot and humid as it has been here since mid June...

Are you in the Augusta, GA area as your username suggests?
