Been with them as long as I can remember. Love their website, and how easy it is to use and pay bills. Love their phone app. Makes banking simple. They're always nice and give good customer service on the rare occasions I have to go into a bank. I don't have one complaint.

I would think they would make this $100 right for you if you truly didn't receive any cash.

The absolute worst. They left there commercial customers hanging not participating in the early PPP.

Have to disagree - credit unions suck

Genuinely curious: was your expectation that they would credit you the $100 based on the conversation alone WITHOUT an investigation?

That’s very 2004 of you. No longer the case. Very comparable to availability of TV technology / cost to banks.

I expected the bank to have similar issues with other customers. They can check the time stamp and see where the machine self reported the problem. This isn’t rocket science that takes three weeks to figure out.

It isn't a bad thing to work with multiple banks and actually easier to save dollars and you can have funds separate in case you get locked out for fraud, identity theft or other reasons.

Yep. Use Capital One for daily stuff, bill pay, etc. Credit Union for any loan product and primary savings. That said, I've had no problems with CO and have been thankful for their super fast fraud detection and response on more than one occasion.

Was she originally a Pioneer Bank or Hibernian Customer? The owners of Pioneer Bank were LSU alumni.

Don’t assume the machine had a problem with customers other than you.

If I had to guess you are going to get an answer much sooner. If you don’t make a phone call and ask the question.

Started working at Hibernia in college. A few years later, they were bought out by Capital One. I watched it slowly go down hill over the 10 years as I worked my way up there. Customer Service was no longer a priority to most folks. I could no longer be a part of it and made a career change after 13 years.

Also, the goal of the bank is to tie you up every way possible through what they call "sticky services." Bank account, direct deposit, bill pay, credit card, auto loan, home loan, etc. I cant tell you how many people threatened to switch banks and never did due to the hassle. I felt their pain. Capital One sucks now. Rich Fairbank has turned it into a glorified ATM.

I'm also a former long-term employee of the company and have to say this was highly accurate. Not a fan, I still have many contacts at the bank and recently called one to address a "routine" issue. Local branch employees can't even pull your account up without you being physically present and either scanning or inputting your ID info into the system.

The person I was speaking with remains a close personal friend. They were told they could not help me solve an issue that used to take 2 minutes to solve in a branch.
This was recent (Post-Covid) so the physically in branch stuff was done in the midst of the pandemic. The employees have virtually no ability to service their customers anymore, and are essentially now the equivalent of GameStop employees. Many of their most talented folks left long ago for other local banks.

It took me less than 48 hours to transition to a new institution. It's pretty sad - I would like to support my friends there. They lost substantial deposits and several million in commercial loans as a result. I didn't even get a phone call to talk about it after we asked them to close & transfer the accounts.

That is why I left big banks. I deal on with a local credit union and a small bank with about 10 branches. Wonderful service from both.

My original local bank was bought out by Capital One years ago. I had a children account for my son with the old bank. When Capital One bought them out I noticed my son's statement had money removed out of the account two months in a row. They had a minimum balance that if it was below they took from it a charge. I bitched to the manager and they refunded. I closed all my accounts and went with the local bank and credit union.

I refuse to ever do willing business with Capital One again. Too long to list why but they will screw you out of .50 and look you in the eye when they do it.

Im not going to read three pages so it has probably already been said... file your dispute with the bank. Once the ATM is balanced, likely by a third-party (which takes longer) they will give you your money back.

For anyone who reads this... as a banker who has worked for the largest, the medium, and community banks, find a community bank near you. Ask them about their apps and online banking. That convenience is mostly what you care about and most small banks have caught up and you have the same convenience as with the big boys.

If you’re a legitimate OT Baller check their capital ratios.

I just switched to the Bank of Texas and I love them so far. Small bank feeling but the backing of a much larger organization of Banks.

Also, Capital One is a credit card company. They are seeking free (your checking account) money as loan loss reserves. I don’t know why anybody would bank with capital one since they are a credit card company and not a bank.

Well this is a retarded statement. I suppose Chase is a “credit card” company in your eyes?

There is much truth to what he is saying. Capital One bought Hibernia after the Fed removed rules disallowing credit card companies and banks to be under the same corporate umbrella. Capital One only wanted the bank for the deposits. They pay a very low interest on checking and savings, and charge 15 - 25% on credit cards. They have gotten rid of one customer service banking benefit after another: temporary checks, deposits of change, PPP loans for business customers. It's not a customer oriented business anymore, just a cash cow for the credit card company.

They are trying(in vain) to modernize their banking and push everything to 360 online accounts. That doesn’t mean they aren’t a bank. They are a bank and it’s just ignorant to say they aren’t. They were late to the game on PPP for sure.

You can still deposit change, it just needs to be rolled. They got rid of their machines that count unrolled coinage. The horror!!!
