Before I take your opinion seriously I have to know if you've moved on from "Hopeful Doc" to just "Doc"
The only thing I've lost hope in is the folks who fully believe the conspiracy that "cancer" is curable but "pharma" won't let it happen.
It's an unfortunate amount of ignorance on the believer's part with an extreme amount of disdain, and I really wish people had enough interest to spend a little bit of time trying to learn that cancer is a complex pathophysiological process that, for simplicity's sake, is similar across most types of cancer without being really related in terms of how you would go about stopping them at all.
It is not a far off analogy to say that hoping for a "cure for cancer" is like hoping for a "tool to fix cars." There are hundreds of makes and models of cars, even within one model of car, there can be 3 engines, 3 different transmissions and then an additional 4-5 trims. And there's nothing similar between a headlight going out and a fuel filter needing to be changed. And a fuel filter needing to be changed on a Ferrari is not anything like changing the fuel filter on a Model T. And you damn sure would not be sitting around hoping for one tool that could fix all of those things. Because it's literally impossible. Or it's duct tape and doesn't work well and could fail at any given moment, but it can get the job done for some amount of time for some jobs until something better can be found.
These companies have a million reasons to be disliked. Preventing cures from reaching the market that are safe and effective really just is not one of them.

That's all true, but someday somebody's going to make a discovery that nobody ever thought of before. Maybe not these guys, but somebody. Maybe 25 years from now, or maybe 50 or 100, cancer will be one of those dread diseases from the past .

This is coming from someone who works on cancer for a living...this guys are full of shite. Outside of the ridiculous quotes in the article, the science is full of holes. Don't waste your time
You mad you are going to be out of work in a year?

I never thought I this until this thread. If you are right—and I think you are—then I should put all my efforts into a giant ruse that seems to cure cancer, then profit by accepting copious amounts of hush money for my work.

If they're lying, I say we nuke 'em.

So all those customers paying for treatment will suddenly decide paying more for a cure is just not worth it?
A cure would be an instant cash cow for any company that develops it. They would out-revenue their competitors for decades.
The world would be clamoring to have the lead scientist’s dick embronzed. With that kind of money, fame, and the sheer scope of humanitarian accomplishment, he would be able to leave his wife for Kate Beckinsale.
A cure for cancer is the golden ticket Big Pharma craves.

This sounds too good to be true, so I'll wait and see.

Big blow to the BDS movement here.

I had a buddy that worked at a monkey lab in Missouri. Told me they tested drugs that cured aids several times, but they never saw market. Ifsofacto. pharmaceutical companies are in the business of making money. Not curing disease.
So are we also to believe that your friend is too dumb to resign from said company, release the med himself and become a multi-millionaire? Ok

Sure they do. Particularly ones that work
No. If we’re being completely honest and using our fricking brains it’s pretty obvious they would benefit more financially by people staying sick and not getting better. You probably still believe in Santa too huh you gullible bitch?

Big pharma would make a fortune if a universal cure.
Wrong
Big pharma doesn't want a cure for anything. They want maintenance of everything.

We all know what you meant to say when you put the word Israeli in there.
You may as well have put ((( and ))) and the first and last of your sentence.
