Almost any nuke would cause WW3 or a borderline genocide. It would violate MAAD and the world cannot handle that.

How bout Firebombing urban areas like the US did Tokyo? it wouldn't be too bad as not much wood but still.

That was 1940s before nukes were known to the real world, and not sure what that has to do with realpolitik in today's world.

Tough to have MAAD when there was no actual mutual ha.

Iran is now directly involved in dead Americans and Europeans while sending drones and advisors to help Russia. Are we going to just dawdle around or are we going to act like a country with some nuts?

My guess is when Israel gets a handle on what’s going on currently inside the country, they will cook up something special for the Persians.

Except Gaza is the closest thing to a second state that the non Israelis have had. Hamas has been voted in, and been in charge, for almost two decades. In practice, it's a different country.

Israel needs to drop MOABs on that wreck, and send any survivors to Jordan or Egypt. 70% of Arabs in Israel don't want to live under Arab rule, and prefer Israeli (which includes Arabs) rule, because shite works. Except building permits. Reports are that is a shitshow in Israel.

They are going to level it, resulting in mass exodus of Gaza residents

Jordan and Egypt already kicked out Palestinians.

Palestinians are hated by the Arab world. They just hate Israel more.

Holiday just ended on the east coast of the US.

Might be a fun twitter-verse to follow for the next few hours.

Oh, send them billions? Why do we let the US send the Iranians billions, and now Israel has to deal with the problem we helped create?

The French and other EU states keeping Iran afloat is a problem. We just decided to spread our cheeks, too.

To be fair, that six billion was the Iranian's money.

Damn. My wife found out that relatives of her distant cousin (who lives in Tel Aviv) died today in a grenade explosion. A young couple that leaves behind three children. Didn't expect this to hit home.

Edit: Guess I don't know why this received downvotes... or really any votes. It's pretty sad.

To be fair, we didn't blow up barracks full of Jarheads, support hijackings, fund Hezbollah, fund Hamas, fund Yemeni rebels, or ship weapons and funds to the enemies of our our allies for decades. People in Gaza supposedly can't afford water, but the Hamas government sure can afford a lot of rockets!

I know you're not one for much relativism, I know you're taking the piss.

Although, the technique of using ultra-lights to fly into concerts and start blasting people is interesting. Some may not be aware, but EU governing bodies (TISAX, and others) focused on being able to disable commercial vehicles remotely after the NICE terror attack. Lawnmower with a wing? What ya gonna do? It's not good.

Iranian intelligence services helped Hamas organize an attack on Israel - The Wall Street Journal

Senior Hamas and Lebanese Hezbollah officials told the publication that Iranian intelligence officials "gave the green light" for the attack during a meeting with the groups' militants in Beirut last Monday, Oct. 2.

WSJ interlocutors claim that Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps officers had been working with Hamas since August on plans for an air, land and sea invasion of Israel. Details of the operation were finalized with representatives of four Iranian-backed groups, including Hamas and Hezbollah.

Information about Iran's involvement in organizing an attack on Israel was also confirmed to journalists by a European official and an adviser to the Syrian government.

A senior Hamas official, Mahmoud Mirdawi, said the group planned the attack independently.

Although it would inadvertently solve the problem of fighting over the land.

People seriously discussing nuclear weapons at this point are unserious people.

Gaza is a tiny strip of land 4-5 miles wide at most points. Bordered on 2 sides by Israel and 1 side by the Med. The fallout would be a big issue even with tac nukes for both Israel and the Med. Israel has a limited number of nuclear weapons and using them for what could easily be accomplished by conventional means would be foolhardy. Gaza is part of the land promised to the Israelites by God so poisoning it for an untold amount of time would be rather dumb as well. One of the quickest ways to draw ire from a huge part of the international community is to detonate a nuclear weapon on a population center.

The only way nuclear weapons make sense for a country that does not want to be a pariah is in a true existential crisis. Israel is not there yet and it is unlikely to get to that point in this conflict.

Nuclear weapons are a special level of extreme and they poison the water in literal and metaphorical ways. Israel has the majority of first-world support but it also has a lot of disdain just below the surface, using nuclear weapons would bubble a lot of that to the surface.
