.

Actually according to my Dad.Tthe enemy “ Jap’s “ were called Gooks. While he was shooting them. His Japanese friends during the occupation were Japanese people. Or friends.

The Viet Cong were called “ dinks, Charlie , Chuck , etc.

The ARVN’s were called “ Marvin the Arvin “.

Many more perjorative names for the enemy through history.

Be less soft and read history.

Fall of 1983 the prime minister of Japan was enroute to Washington DC passing over Pennsylvania . The local weather guy in Philly started his coverage with the statement "there is a little nip in the air". Leading up to a cold front.

Folks in Japan were pissed at lack of decorum. Weather guy was fired.

This is true. Those WW2 short reels that would play between the "moving pictures" to drum up 'patriotism' and support for the war would often use terminology such as this.

Later, revisionists would try to erase the gov bias push by labeling things as pejorative and remove them for public consumption.

Rinse and repeat through the wars vs. native indians, spaniards, the french (who were key to our revolution win) etc...

Here's a wiki list of ethnic slurs and some background for each. Didn't know of most of 'em

True.
As an adult, to realize how as kids we would repeat jokes to be funny... Kids didn't know what a Polack referred to, that it was referencing a specific people in a specific country, or even why the joke would be funny.

It wasn't until I was a young adult that I could identify a heritage within a last name...

I'm glad to see that the IDF is under 50 casualties, but if 1 of the 50 was yours it is too many. Safe returns for all

Poland has a robust guest worker program, and Western views are increasingly popular in the western half the country, the parts that were once Germany. They actually overlay neatly with it. I think it’s only a matter of time, especially with the damage the Catholic Church has sustained.

My grandfather was 1st Marines, passed through Guadalcanal (missed the brunt of it) on his way to Peleliu. The Japs are deserving of this slur, they more than earned it.

I never got how shorting a word makes it a slur. If the US soldiers would have said Damn Japanese instead of Damn Japs would Japanese be considered offensive?

The argument that saying “Jews” is ok because it’s the first letters of their name while claiming “japs” as being offensive is wild as hell.

Britain and France both need to destroy their nuclear arsenals. What will happen once Muslims take over the government and begin nuking people? It's going to happen eventually.

There's a Mexican in my hometown who is called "Jap" as a first name because he looks Japanese. He calls himself "Jap," e.g. "Jap Hernandez." Note: I changed the last name for posting.

I wonder where their generators are ? They must have quiet models with disguised air intakes and exhaust systems to enable them to run underground.

Locate and plug those exhaust systems as you blow up the tunnel exits and trap the filth below.

I guess Brits, Scots, Francs, etc. are pejoratives too. I very seriously doubt any Japs are upset about it but good job defending people that don’t give a shite about your crusade

those are all real words, not slurs. "japs", however, is. only an autist would struggle with this.

National Guard to protect whom?

From potential violent counter-protestors?

In DC covering the #MarchForIsrael with @TPUSA. Tonz of people as far as the eye can see. More than I’ve even seen.

There are no chants for genocide. No statues getting vandalized. No violence.

Just a beautiful, peaceful rally.
