After Egypt blocked Israeli access to Red Sea starting the 6 -Day War in 1967 Israel took the land from Jordan and Egypt who realistically had taken the areas almost 20 years earlier from no one as palestinians rejected UN division plan (never enforced by UN as Britain just removed its forces as Arabs didn’t accept plan) and were not a self declared state or a internationally recognized one. Jordan ended up actually annexing the West Bank in 1950 and was admitted into the UN with a boundary that included the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Egypt had taken control of Gaza thru military occupation in 1948.

You forgot the part where Israel blew up a United States Navy vessel, killed 34 US soldiers and wounded 171 more. All because it was getting too close to seeign what was going on.

Deep state/bureaucrats get upset when they don't think they run the country.
quote:

State Department staffers offered a blistering critique of the Biden administration’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war in a dissent memo obtained by POLITICO, arguing that, among other things, the U.S. should be willing to publicly criticize the Israelis.

The message suggests a growing loss of confidence among U.S. diplomats in President Joe Biden’s approach to the Middle East crisis. It reflects the sentiments of many U.S. diplomats, especially at mid-level and lower ranks, according to conversations with several department staffers as well as other reports. If such internal disagreements intensify, it could make it harder for the Biden administration to craft policy toward the region.

The memo has two key requests: that the U.S. support a ceasefire, and that it balance its private and public messaging toward Israel, including airing criticisms of Israeli military tactics and treatment of Palestinians that the U.S. generally prefers to keep private.

The gap between America’s private and public messaging “contributes to regional public perceptions that the United States is a biased and dishonest actor, which at best does not advance, and at worst harms, U.S. interests worldwide,” the document states.

“We must publicly criticize Israel’s violations of international norms such as failure to limit offensive operations to legitimate military targets,” the message also states. “When Israel supports settler violence and illegal land seizures or employs excessive use of force against Palestinians, we must communicate publicly that this goes against our American values so that Israel does not act with impunity.”

Politico - U.S. diplomats slam Israel policy.

legitimate military targets,

I'd ask them to define this in regards to how Hamas operates.

I'd then tell them to frick off.

Which is precisely what Israel has done to this point.

Hamas has a New Orleans flavor in its rocket room. Looks like the City of New Orleans must have funded this project. Check out the .05 second mark of this video.

They didn't really "blow it up". More like strafed and bombed it. Might have been some torpedo boats involved, but the US has had a credibility problem with torpedo boat attacks since the Gulf of Tonkin incident.

Can't believe you didn't mention the King David Hotel bombing also. The Irgun actually blew that up.

Yes, it was a huge mistake to move forward with the 2-state solution with so many irreconcilable differences on crucial issues.

The IDF announces that Wael Asefa, Commander of Hamas Deir al-Balah Battalion has passed away due to health complications. He leaves behind 72 virgins in Gaza.

Asefa aided in the dispatch of thousands of terrorists to assault, abduct and murder Israeli civilians on October 7th.

I may have my Gazan hospitals mixed up, but I think that Indonesian hospital is the one built over an existing tunnel complex. I know it was one of the foreign hospitals highlighted in the IDF briefing yesterday, but I'm not certain it is this one.

ETA: It is the same hospital, and it was funded/built by Qatar. They're big mad over the Israeli tunnel accusations.
