Seeing a lot of explosions in the distance now on the 4 way cameras. Also that brightly lit up complex in the middle of Gaza (I assume their hospital) has gone mostly dark with the exception of a few lights.

A proportional response is generally understood to be a proportionate response. It is a subtle difference and not widely used correctly.
While 2 million to 1 is a proportion it does not mean the ratios are proportional, they may or may not be but you did not provide enough information to determine that.
It is a quagmire not worth getting into when most people know what most people mean when they use "proportional response".

Perhaps, or they are simply quoting a descriptor used by an eyewitness to the act? I have no idea, but there could be a legitimate reason for the choice here that isn't nefarious at all.

Most of it is behind a paywall, but Sy Hersh has an article up today titled Netanyahu is finished. He says Bibi was told by military commanders not to allow settlers to celebrate Sukkot in the West Bank. That celebration was given the protection of two of three Army battalions that had been protecting the Gaza border. That left 800 soldiers for Gaza.
Bibi prefers special forces -- the ground forces aren't trained for combat and typically are used as security guards in the West Bank. Brutal "Leningrad approach" is on the table. Debate is whether to starve Hamas out or kill as many as 100k people.

Believe it or not aljaerra (sp) is a solid news organization that tries almost too hard to be be fair and balanced, they ask the hard questions right out of the box. They are Hamas buddies

Not sure how many times this guy has to be proven a fraud before people stop taking him seriously. He was good in the 70s with his Vietnam stuff but has been thoroughly debunked time and time again since he tried to shift blame from Assad for gassing his own people a decade ago.
