quote:well I quoted someone from this thread which is the only issue I have. Civilians will die. I understand this. I’m talking about the individual who said something like “maybe we should kill all the future terrorists too.”
But people saying shite like, “ i wouldn’t be against killing all the future terrorist too” is going off the deep end. Your talking about full on baby murder at that pointLegendInMyMind said it better than I could, and I quoted it for a reason. quote:Currently there is a disconnect in this thread between the understanding that civilians will die and the thirst for wiping out all Palestinians.
Here’s the exact quote
quote:so to me insinuating we should just go ahead and kill the children while we’re at it, is a bridge too far, but I guess that makes me a pussy arse liberal
I'm generally not a pro-genocide type of person, but in this case it might be better to let all the future jihadists die with their parents.

So Gaza has no utilities or food being imported and they are getting air strikes…
Are we at the point that 2 million people will starve to death in the next two weeks??? What am I missing as far as logistics? Is this Israel’s goal? The exit to Egypt is shut down.

When you depend on your neighbor for food, water, power, and a number of other things, it MIGHT be a good fricking idea not to head over there and randomly slaughter people.

murder 5,000 innocent enemy women and children to save 50k of your own soldiers.
How is that math figured? Random guess?
Sounds like you’re trying to equivocate.

I would not have advocated to kill 'em all. That doesn't mean I wouldn't have supported fighting against the NAZIs. WW2 is possibly the proudest moment in US history.
Dear lord you are as big a moron as some of the hardline Progs on this board. No one with half a brain is saying kill them all. What they are saying is when there is collateral damage it is the cost of the bill Hamas rendered. I never looked to injure or kill an “innocent” but if the choice was my life, one of my Marines lives or a kid….sucks to be the kid in the situation. If Hamas uses human shields and are firing on the IDF….well when they return fire on Hamas a couple of those shields may take a round. It sucks, I hate it, but it is what has been happening since the dawn of man and warfare. If you can’t handle that I suggest you flitter away to some made up land where Skittles far from the sky, chocolate milk drips off of trees and unicorn farts power combustion engines.

No serious person is saying this. Those types are along the same lines as those twisting their justifications of the actions of Hamas like the progressives and radicals.
The serious adults understand that innocent people are going to perish. They also understand that this was brought about by the actions of Hamas. All innocent blood shed (and the blood of actual soldiers and jihadists to be frank) is and will be directly tethered to the decisions and actions of the terrorists that decided to murder, kidnap, and/or rape innocent men, women, and children who were living peacefully on their side of the border before the attack.

Do you think we were taking time to make sure we only hit bad Nazis when we leveled Berlin?
Throw Dresden in there and let’s see the response?

To be clear, I'm in no way advocating that. I'm just saying that every Palestinian is not responsible for this. I can assure you that there is a significant number of Palestinians in Gaza today that are appalled at the attacks and terrified of what Hamas will do to them if they try to escape to Egypt. It's a very, very shitty situation.
WB maybe but in Gaza I say the Hamas supporters far outweigh the ones you are saying are appalled

they haven’t had an election in 18 years. if they were that terrified, they would throw off the yolk of an incompetent dictatorship. but they won’t, because their religion dictates that they exterminate jews, and subjugate any non muslim on Earth. stop equivocating.

They misplaced the ballot box after the election party, and haven't been able to find it for the past 17 years.

Hamas can't quell 2 million enraged, starving Gazans I guess.
They did a real bang up job creating their personal hell on Earth, all in the name of paradise.

quote:Trying to extract hostages via raid in Gaza could easily turn worse than Mogadishu, and I only say "could" because of the amount of ordinance being dropped possibly providing a window of chaos to get in and out, and the fact that the bulk of the Israeli capability to respond (along with our assets) is already nearby and in a high state of alert. Two things lacking in Somalia. It's awful for the hostages and their friends but I wouldn't support risking our most elite tier 1 or 2 guys on that mission either.
American special forces arrived in Israel specialized in hostage-free operations. We do not rule out carrying out a special operation to liberate our citizens in Gaza“
I doubt any operations will be successful due to the geography of Gaza (a big arse city with people living on top of each other). Hope I am wrong and I hope all Delta/SEAL operators return home safe.

Hamas’ PR flack got on Sky News to insist they didn’t kill any civilians, then proceeded to insist that any Israeli was effectively not a civilian.
If they consider anyone in Israel to not be a civilian but someone as a prison guard, I think they need a reminder of what happens to rioting prisoners when guards get killed.
quote:
NAIM: We have not killed any civilian. We also need to redefine what it means to say “civilian.” We cannot consider a settler in the occupied West Bank, who is carrying guns and burning the city of Huwara as a civilian. We can’t continue with anyone who is sitting around the borders, working on division to control and besiege 2.3 million in the biggest open prison as a civilian.

Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group(Atlantic fleet) is set to deploy on Friday. This is a regularly-scheduled deployment. Includes a cruiser and destroyer.

unless someone from Gaza uses an incorrect pronoun, they are pretty safe from the guys calling the shots in our military.
