Cantore kinda freaked last night when this happened on air. It is cool to see it backed up in data.

How abrupt that temperature change was is interesting.

I had to fix my neighbors generator after her $1400 service tech guy in August didn’t either charge or replace the battery. For that amount of money you should get everything you can take off new, including a battery.

Portable jump charger saves the day again. Of course she didn’t have the damn keys. I ran into that in June and thank God they are all the same. (I have no idea why you need to lock your generator cover to begin with. No copper in there and I think these service guys “forget to give them back to you “ on purpose, so you have use them to service.

I highly recommend everyone do your own annual maintenance on Generac Generators. At least you will learn how to fix them etc. It took me 30 minutes and cost 20 bucks, counting the damn new keys.

Got hit pretty good didn’t see much if any storm surge though.

Power was out and may remain out until Tuesday apparently.

Driving to the Bama game and it looked like a tornado had hit from the beach to roughly Andalusia.

They must’ve had 50-75 trees cleared from the roads until I got to I65.

Places like Florala got hit pretty hard last night.

That was a big problem after Ida and the snow storm. Lots of gas infrastructure was only based on heating a home, heating water, and cooking. Whole Home generators on natty gas was still a pipe dream.

Plus, did the county or city require permits and track how many natty generators were installed. That too was an issue pre-Ida. Gas companies did not know how much gas was needed to supply all the generators and keep up with infrastructure and place larger gas distribution lines. That is why one company I know now has the option of a buried natty gas tank.

I’ve heard some back and forth on this. Ida was an eye opening experience in some areas and I believe the PSC was addressing this issue. I’m sure the utilities felt like they were caught off guard as did the homeowners who expected their generators to run. Hopefully the next time we have a storm like Ida this won’t be an issue again.

If you can get access to a drone use it to get up in air and you will see tornado tracks.

We have a bunch of destroyed buildings and fatalities along east beach in Ocean Springs despite them all being on a ridge 26 feet above sea level, so having no water or very little water in the houses. Of course, snake farm was going to say was all tidal surge but didn’t make sense.

I rented a helicopter and found a huge tornado track went right down the ridge and found tornado tracks everywhere, yet there wasn’t a single tornado reported on the coast. (Because it was nighttime in a fricking hurricane and dead men tell no tales) I gave that video to lawyers representing policy holders and everyone hit got paid. Tornadoes are hard for them to defend.

Jason Smith was talking about that early how the collapse of it after it hit land was going to be bad and cause some weird shite.

Any reports from 30A area or Destin?

My area of Mobile just looks like a jungle floor, with thousands of about a foot round oak branches everywhere. But none if the live oaks came down or any massive branches in the area.

Nobody here is doing shite until tomorrow too many games on.

I heard there were some fatalities. Prayers sent to those families and everyone else that got a bunch of damage. Hope everything damaged gets built back better than ever. It’s a risk we all share together, and those without salt in their blood never understand.

If you are an old frick like me don’t kill yourself trying to get everything cleaned up asap. If you are a young buck with extra energy or time, please help those old people and windows. God will truly bless you for your efforts

The only death I've seen so far (granted, I haven't specifically looked) happened in Birmingham from a tree falling on a home.

ETA: There was another Alabama death with no location or circumstances released yet.

Well, in hindsight......maybe my advice wasn't the best.

Wait, you didn't put the kids in there to weigh it down, did you? If so, my bad...... ?

I hope the damage isn't too bad and cleanup/repair doesn't take long. ?

ETA: I also hope the kids did okay with/during the storm.

I did but everything in the shed stayed put so they were fine. Shed just tore to piece into the woods. Clean up is just about done. All things considered, we had a lucky break. I lost a shed, a pear tree, elderberry tree, and I have to cut a couple trees on the fence up but will be easily fixable. God just didnt intend for me to have a shed lol it is what it is. Im more bummed about watching the game on my phone here in a minute.

One of the toddlers was pretty scared but hes OK now. It did get admittingly loud and he had no idea what was going on.

Our neighborhood had several homes with live oaks on roofs and some down in yards. A few power lines down too. Lost power Friday at 4pm and got it back at 9 this morning. I can't imagine a direct hit on Mobile.

You must be close to me. That’s when our power went off. At least it’s nice and cool today. A just open the doors day and let fresh cool air in day. And those live oak branches are easy to pick up.

Looks like no acorns this year and I have may two satsumas on a tree I used get two grocery bags off. I wonder if it’s a bad year for pecans too. Acorns are hit and miss but this is the first year I remember in at least 20 with no satsumas.

Downtown Pensacola/north hill area.

I’d say from my perspective worse than sally by far damn sight for wind damage. Fortunately minimal storm surge downtown/waterfront area. But I’d be hard pressed to see us with power again in the next 5 days or so. So many giant trees down everywhere.

Our roof is damaged fence is toast and some siding is off but fortunately no leaks and vehicles ok. Huge pain in the arse though. Outside of House/yard/neighborhood tore up something fierce

That’s solid. That said, need to see what it forecasted or forecasts in the future to see if this was a raffle winner or reliable (within reason)

EDIT: has it tracked the pacific storms this year for example?
