I’m in Gulf Breeze on the water at Deer Point. North/northeast winds kept the surge out. We were planning on 3+ feet in the lower level, but only had a few waves break over the sea wall. We got very lucky. Drove around GB proper earlier and lots of big trees down. Lots of power lines down as well. Going to be a long cleanup process, but could have been much worse.

And 10 miles west of downtown Pensacola near big lagoon state park, we got basically nothing. You have power there?
Power was among the things that we got nothing of. I’m in Baton Rouge, but my neighbor says power is out.

And we were supposed to be in Ft Walton/Destin at the end of next month.
Dont think that'll happen now

Just catching up on the aftermath and damage reports info on the past several pages...
Glad those of you in the path of the storm fared well for the most part.
I just spent a couple hours cleaning up my yard from leaves, twigs, very small branches, and getting a good bit of leaves out of the pool. That was here in deep SE Louisiana from only 30 to 40 mph gusty winds.
If that's all I had to do today, I consider myself fortunate - this time around - because I know living near the coast and recovering from way too many hurricanes myself, there will be a next time for me (the price of living near paradise (
)
Hope the cleanup and power restoration is quick and safe for all of you. Have patience. This too shall pass.
Borrowed these from NWS Mobile/Pensacola (common sense but good reminders)

I see Bayou Chico as your location. Is that on the Bayou in P-cola?
My sister lives on Bayou Dr. there and said she has 3 trees down in her yard, but they somehow missed fence/pool/house thankfully.

You could go next week and barely recognize they were hit.

Wonder if Jay got a tornado or mesovortex or something.
At this point I don't think it was a tornado/mesovort. This storm didn't have that look where it was producing mesovorts in the eye like we see with the really strong storms like Ida, Laura, or Michael.
What this seems to have been was some sort of sting jet or pseudo-sting jet. The core opened up so quickly at/just prior to landfall that it began acting as if it were extratropical, even if it wasn't by definition. Those big winds in the area — on radar and with ground truth from NOAA weather stations — occurred kind of in the area where you'd expect the sting jet process to happen. It also had a marked wind shift which could account for the different direction in tree damage noted in the area.
This process just happened on such an accelerated timeframe due to how quickly Isaias began to breakdown and open up that it is hard to say for sure. The radar presentation didn't look tornadic at the time. Either way, big wind definitely made a mess of the place, and it is going to be interesting to see what is learned from it.

Gas was turned off in Gulf Breeze disabling everyone’s generators last night. It’s back on now, and we’re on generator power. No updates on when to expect power to come back on here.
In addition to the supply issues discussed, there are a number of reasons gas can be lost during / after a storm.
Thinking you will never lose power during a storm because you face a generator is likely not realistic.
Lose power in a summer thunderstorm? Sure, should work fine.

Posted link to interview i saw. Its from late last night.
Have spoken to a few people in Brewton today. Basically they just have a ton of trees and power lines down everywhere.
Maybe not as bad as Ivan but pretyy close and that took around 25 days to restore power. Still haven't cleared enough roads in most places to see power crews coming in as of early this afternoon.

I saw that one from last night where he was speculating as the storm was still coming through, damage still unknown at the time.

My uncle was driving around where he could. It's basically just a ton of trees down everywhere in that path up from Milton through Brewton.

Had to run over to my office at International Paper in Cantonment to pick up my mobile hotspot in case power didn’t come back on. Lots of wide spread tree, power line and structural damage, especially in the Mobile Hwy area of Beulah. Possible tornados and very reminiscent of Ivan.

Yes, but i moved over by East Hill earlier this year.
We just walked to Bayview Park and back. Large downed trees and limbs everywhere. However, it is kind of shocking how few houses have trees on them, or tree damage. People, including us, got extremely lucky around here. Lots of narrow misses. Its a mess around here though for sure. Significant power line damage everywhere. Not getting my hopes up on getting power back anytime soon.

Yeah, sounds like downtown Pensacola area got hit pretty hard.
I'm just glad the surge wasn't what was forecast. I was worried about her since she rode Sally out, and when the water stopped rising it was less than 2 inches from coming in her front door.
If it had come in 30-40 miles to the west it could have been bad as far as the surge goes.
