I was using the self checkout at Walmart (trashy I know) and rang up bananas. There were 1.04 pounds of bananas and the scale worked perfectly. But then it said the scale needed to be recalibrated and an associate needed to enter a login.

Because I’m not a worthless piece of shite, I actually had bananas. But a known theft method is ringing up something expensive as bananas.

My guess is the whole scale thing was bullshite and it’s actually a way to audit banana technique thieves without being accusatory. Maybe 1 in every 100 transactions get flagged and they have an associate check that it actually is bananas. I know they have some scanning technology too but this seems like another line of defense.

The 4011 banana code is universal at self-checkouts. That’s all I know.

Produce codes are universal everywhere. And adding a 9 on the front makes it organic.

The camera that looks down identifies what vegetable or fruit is on the scale.

Pro Self Checkout Tip:

Grab the organic bananas and just use the 4011 code. That way you save on the organic prices.

I bought some organic bananas at Trader Joe's and they were not even ripe yet. They stayed green for nearly a week. Then I tried to peel one and it ripped. They were not even ripened enough on the tree to peal.

Maybe my bananas got red flagged by the scanner and that’s what triggered this? I’m just not buying there was a legitimate issue with the scale that required an associate.

My OCD causes me to buy bananas without stickers only if that matters.

So yer tellin’ me the reason all this new wal mart self checkout security bullshite is because Walmart found a couple million “missing banana profits”?

It’s like a reverse money in the banana stand.

Do you think delicate scales work perfectly every time knowing that they get heavy stuff slammed on them all day by every loser, redneck, and degenerate in America?

Walmart could just do what my local one does. Go from 7-8 self check outs with one associate, down to 3-4 with two associates, and just claim the other ones aren't working.

Did you open a banana and try to put a ribeye inside?
