I dont have a problem with saying retard but I probably wouldnt say it around someone who has a special needs family member just out of respect.

I don’t say it because I have friends that have a mentally handicapped daughter. I did use it in the past. Heck, the young people still use it and use gay, fruit, queer, **** often. I hear it when out and about.
