Uber has gone downhill fast. At first the drivers were great. Very professional and you never had to worry about anything. Didn’t take long before the trash of society started driving for them though

I find it funny that only bad things Uber drivers do make it into the press, and never yellow cab. I imagine buying ads/support from the media may help in this discrepancy.

Uber is a truly horrible company though. On all levels.

Oh bullshite! They may have some issues, but it's been nothing but great for me since this service came to Nola.
Last year I took a ride home late at night and ended up leaving my keys in the car. The next morning at 9:00AM the Uber was back at my house delivering them to me. He said it's company policy.

Truly horrible would the way to describe the cab service in Nola before Uber arrive and it's only gotten a little better.

i have had overwhelmingly positive experiences with Uber. Most of my drivers are quite friendly. They usually drive safer than a cabbie too. Although they sometimes don't know where they are going.

I have taken a lot of cab rides in my life, and almost every uber experience has been better. And if it wasn't I gave them a shitty review.

Uber is a crapshoot now. Plenty of drivers have no idea where they're at

The other half are driving around in dirty arse cars. They must have lowered that standard

You mean to tell me hiring people without ever meeting them isn't working out?

I understand what you mean, but it isnt like employers sit down for a long chat about your personal life and how many people you plan on killing before they hire you.

Imo Uber does more good than harm aka saving lives from drunk drivers, but there does need to be a change of how uber works.

People lie about what they are driving and the condition it is in. They dont go through an in person inspection. Just sign up and drive their daily use POS

Yup. Their issue is they couldn’t grow fast enough, too much demand for rides has led to shittier cars and drivers which leads to a worse product.

Still 100% use Uber and Lyft over cabs, though. That’s all that really matters to me

This board absolutely hates technological innovation. If you want to see pure hatred, start a thread talking about using bitcoin to pay for an Uber to take you to see a launch of a new rocket designed by SpaceX.

Uber is way better than cabs. Did get a few shitty cars in Detroit that definitely were not at normal standards. But it was Detroit, so expectations and all...

Most places they’ve been really good.

Your experiences with their drivers really doesn't have a lot to do with them as a company. And the company policy about returning items left in the car seems like common sense.

Uber charges a flat fee to the airport, but great story none the less.
