it's going to take a lot of time and data to establish safety and efficacy for a treatment

They're using those on an experimental basis. There's no solid evidence that they are safe or effective yet.

Not even 15,000 deaths worldwide in 6 months but of course the exponential increase only works in America and Italy
Yeah, the doom and gloom government types perpetuate this shite. It's a pig pile and hopefully at the end of this people won't listen to these doomsdayers from government next time.

We won’t know for a couple of weeks how much self quarantining is working.
Can't know. If this board is any indicator, everyone is 100% hookers and blow for the next 8 weeks, health and well being of themselves or the public be damned.

This tragedy is in it’s infancy right now

The hospital system was supposed to be pushed beyond capacity this weekend
Yea the goalpost keeps moving but if you bring this up they say it's because of the drastic measures we have taken

No one really knows how many people have had it, when, or if the rate if going up or down. The total numbers look worse as more tests are done. But they can’t test mild cases if those people even know or knew to get tested. It looks to me that the government actions are like shooting off a gun on a dark room. Have to do something but no real idea of what except limiting cases in our hospitals

We're forecast to have temperatures in the upper 80's to 90 degrees next weekend in Baton Rouge. That means the CV-19 infections will be getting better then.
At the risk of sounding contrarian; the largest outbreak in Florida is in Dade/Broward which is the Miami metro area. Temperatures have been in the 80-90’s there since before the outbreak began.
The narrative that warmer temps will ease Coronavirus isn’t being backed by much hard data.

Daily total death worldwide are at all time high. Still a way to go
Wait are you saying we have zombies now? All time high implies the total deaths might go back down? Do they come back to life from the dead?

You're not being a contrarian. You're just being a person who exercises reason rather than delusion and magical thinking.

We have been 7-14 days out from the surge for the past month.
Every prediction has been incorrect.

What's the largest population area in Florida?

That will certainly be the narrative afterwards.
It's a bear rock argument.

I have a feeling we’re going to be a “week behind Italy” for as long as it suits politicians

You guys are way too cynical.

Yeah how does that make any sense? They keep pushing back our eventual demise. Why not just get it out of the way up front?
