re: Is this the greatest fold in Texas Hold’em history?

phil ivey
is in danger if getting his assets stripped by the casino he "cheated" when playing baccarat.
quote:
The Phil Ivey edge-sorting saga has now dragged out for seven years. It was in 2012 that Ivey and Cheung Yin “Kelly” Sung met, took Crockfords Club in London for about $12 million at baccarat, and took Borgata in Atlantic City for $9.6 million.
And here we are in 2019, and it’s still making news. Ivey still wants his money from Crockfords. Borgata still wants its money from Ivey. This month, a federal judge decided Borgata can go after Ivey’s assets in Nevada. And US Bets has now learned that a deadline of March 18 has been set for the first-step brief in the Third Circuit appeal of the case.

you gotta know when to hold 'em, and know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away and know when to run.

I am dead serious. Can we get a tournament going with everyone in this thread?

He didn't cheat per se, just used an advantage play.
And there's a lot more to the story. The casino is the really scummy party here, as usual.
They agreed to every single one of his requests. They knew exactly what he was doing the entire time. They were freerolling him. If he lost, great. If he won, they already knew they were never going to pay him. House always wins, unfortunately.

You pick the Sonic, I'll bring the cards.

quote:You are joking, of course. No serious poker player would suggest a game of this sort. Right? Arranged on a public site? No one is that damn oblivious. Amirite?
Haven't had a good old fashioned HU4Rolls challenge in a while.
I don't play home games.
If you want to play HU let me know what stakes you are comfortable with and what game.
We can find a venue.

she's on the money bubble in a major tournament, and given the fact that they;re on the on the bubble, players tend to play extremely straightforward.
The way the hand played out, it's more likely she loses to kings full than aces full, but that player is just never showing up with a bluff in that spot.
So if he's not bluffing, queens full does beat much. If they;re not on the bubble, it's a whole other story.
ETA just read the thread. this is both hilarious and sad. the majority of people are completely wrong, and SFP spends two hours writing a novel to show everyone he is secretly a pro, and is still wrong

What up sfp!!!
Yea, I remember the td donkamebt. I think we had an 18 man sitngo, right?
There were some sneaky good players in that tourney...you should see some of the live tourney achievements of a few of those guys.
I think I remember I got to either heads up, or 3 handed...the kid I played with at the end ended up winning the majors triple crown online and also won a wpt main event live.

it's not even the casino. it's the gaming law itself. it demands that he lose x-% or it's an illegal game and not only does he have to return what he won but he also has to return the putative profits the casino lost

I made that in two days playing "work".
I guess that makes me a pro.

I remember dahjinerat, the chemist, Maravichlsu, twist tie- also ocean and some other ot dudes etc. quite a few regs online played that night. . Dahjinerat was my roommate years later(random). He did some sick stuff online-I remember in a span of like 14 days he won the Sunday million-Sunday warmup- and whatever the main tourney on Sundays fulltilt was! That same dude also won thewpt botgata 5k rebuy main event....and he wasn't even the best tourney player in that sitngo. The chemist was the nastiest of the bunch.

yeah i was a cash limit player (
) and sng donk back then...back in the good ole days when you got easy $500 signup bonuses and could cash sngs by just sitting out for an hour. i started playing again in 2016 after taking about 8 years off and then quitting limit and learning NL
haven't played much the past year. the houston rooms have decimated the big money out here

That's some ridiculous results.

God I miss those days. Ignition software sucks. Global is good but they need some software, which goes against their philosophy.
Posted on 2/16/19 at 6:30 pm to EarlyCuyler3
I haven't fricked around with Ignition in a long while but man Omaha was pretty juicy
i had ridiculously bad luck on NL Zoom (whatever their version is) too. felt rigged. i used to rage quit so bad
my problem was i never rolled myself nearly well enough
