Welcome home , soldier.,,,

My grandfather was one of the chosen few that carried out the raid/mission at cabanatuan…”the great raid” is a movie that shows how everything went down. I take great pride in knowing that my grandfather was a part of the mission that saved many of those American soldiers from the Japanese pow camp.

I was there when that poor man fell to his death in that hot air balloon..my buddy and his uncle were standing next to me, and his uncle actually filmed the footage that was used on the news.

I was also there at the interaction of
Newcastle and Sherwood when that lady pulled out in front of that cop on the motorcycle.

Its strange that back to back posters mentioned these two accidents, and I was there for both of them. What are the odds?

I also witnessed another aftermath of a motorcycle wreck on I-10. It was around 1992. I was riding with my step dad. We pulled past the body on the ground, and my stepdad said “don’t look”. I couldn’t help myself.- when I looked down, the body was completely ripped apart. No head , missing arm etc. it was hard to get that scene out of my head.
Tommy Johns

A bit pricey- but the best underwear I have ever owned

I def play with an entirely different mindset when playing online vs live- mtt vs cash etc.

I played the majority of the plo live games that were happening in br a few years back. ..they were awesome for the most part. I knew items only a matter of time until all the fish that were taking shots in that game went broke(or figured out they sucked) and that happened. The new version of that plo game that happens isn’t that great. I don’t even bother with it. If my soul purpose of life was to find the best cash games possible, I would def live in East Texas. Unfortunately I have other things that are more important here,(kids/famiky/bueiness) so I don’t. Once my kids graduate hs/college I will prob get the f out of here…

And yes- it’s a brutal mind-f—k playing the fish around here and then flying out to Vegas to play the main event and 5-10nl. I def have to approached hands way differently.

I live in Baton Rouge, so i mostly play 1-3 or 2-5 nl in baton rouge and new Orleans. I play in a private game every now and then that is 5-10nl.

I would love to play mostly 2-5 and 5-10 if it existed, but it just is impossible to find in the casinos around here..on my off days in Vegas last week, I played 5-10nl at aria and 5-10 at Wynn for the most part.

Edited to add- you didn’t win all of them, Craig lol. B/c I won the only tiger droppings tourney I ever played. It was one bigger buy in one on poker stars. Sfp, ocean, the egg, some local online players were all in it. Just sayin. lol.

I just got back from Vegas.

A few notes: Barry hitter is a douche, but damn he’s a good player. Adrian Mateos is the best player I’ve ever seen. Alex Keating is a great player and should go super deep. Mattnstout isnangreat player and should also go deep.adrian Mateos e was on my table for a couple hours. I had no idea what to do. These young Europeans are using gto/micro bets constantly. Tiny 3 bets, tiny 4 bets—-tiny 3-bets with 20% c bets with their entire range etc..they also mix i(balance l) with tiny value bets along with full pot and more than pot sized bets on the river. . I put in hundreds of hours of studying to prepare for the main event this year and i felt completely hamstrung by many of these young euro(and Asian pros). I need to get back in the lab for a long time.

I basically retreated and employed my own pre-flop shirt stack strategy and was able to navigate to day 4..it was a solid run, but I feel I was outplayed a bit and def outclassed by quite a few players.

With that being said, I don’t play a ton of Mtt’s anymore(nor did I ever after I stopped playing online) but I need some more work. When it comes to live cash games I was def more comfortable against the same guys I played all week in the main event.

I’m rooting for my boy Barth Melius. He’s a great guy and a solid poker player. I hope he wins the entire thing

I quit working in 2003 to pursue poker. Never returned to working for the man. I have a wife and two small children now, so I don’t play as much as I used to. In the old days, I would come out to Vegas for 30 or 40 days during the wsop.
