I also understand the Pantera engines were made in Australia, but still Ford DNA
The best 351C engines you could get here were "M" code. Those were the Aussie engines and had higher compression than the others. Luckily my old '71 Mach had an M code.

The Chevelle and the Camaro and vette have always been talked about in these threads and rightfully so. I have always thought that the Nova was a underrated ride. I had a friend whose mom had a stock one when I was about 14 or so and we use to steal it and drive it around the neighborhood when no one was home. Thing was ugly yellow and had some stock ugly rims on it but it did have a very strong V8 and could damn near spin the tires.
Some great Nova's out there.

In the 80’s, I had a ‘65 convertible. Engine block cracked, buddy’s family owned a Ford dealership and got me an at cost 289 from ford racing, showed up at my office in a crate. That, with a Borg Warner T-10 4 speed with “blow proof” gears had me tearing up motor mounts on a regular basis. I miss that car.

How can you downvote sarcasm?

I had an older relative buy a Pacer when they first came out. A few years later, he bought a Chevrolet Citation when they first came out.
Looking back, he was always kind of an idiot who fell for any promotional scam that came along.
Maybe he also bought a 1982-1988 Cadillac Cimmarron? That thing was a tarted up Chevy Cavalier. The "Cadillac luxury "brand never recovered from that marketing con-job.

Ford Pantera
My father purchased it's predecessor in the late 60s/ early 70s, the Mangusta... only 401 made from '67-71. Great examples bring $400-$500K, 4-5 Times that of a Pantera.
He described the car as "like driving a fast Oven", said the cabin heat was almost unbearable for anything more than a short drive

One of these in Petty Blue has always been my dream car.
I have always thought it was just a unique badass looking car.
Fun fact: The wing is useless for downforce until you hit around 150MPH.

You mean the dream car of every 80s child?

F40 is great, but this was my dream car, even had it in our garage. He purchased it in Houston in '86 and unfortunately for me/fortunately for him...., sold it a few yeas before I was able to drive it.
