Freeze to death. I’ve had frostbite before and it hurt like hell. Also, freezing to death would be kind of slow which would extend the agony.

Got third degree burns on peft hand.

You have about a minute where you think youre okay.

And then it hurts.

Ive had third degree burns, compression fractures, stabbed, broken collar bone, torn bicep, torn pec, cut fingertips off with a meat cleaver as a kid, drilled into index finger, and caught a ricochet to the chest as a kid.

My 10 is a torn pec. My nine is a 3rd degree burnt hand. Eight... Carolina reaper pepper in my lower intestine. Six... Sleeping foot. Five... Stabbed. Then everything else.

More painful? A slow meaningless life.

Blood eagle, as previously mentioned.

There was an ancient Persian torture method called "the boats" that is about as bad as anything as I could ever imagine. It supposedly took a couple of weeks to die using that method.

Both are a little too fantastical in my mind to have ever been really used. Especially the boats one. Sounds way too labor intensive. And the blood eagle—seems like the victim would die or pass out too quickly to even get it done as described.

Henry VIII had a guy deep fried alive. Sounds unpleasant.

Frostbite hurts the worst after you warm back up.

Death by hypothermia is actually a pretty easy way to go. Once the shivering slows down, lethargy sets in and you go to permanent sleep.

The Assyrians had some pretty gnarly torture techniques. The one that really stuck out to me was pinning one hand and feet to a canoe, covering them in honey and molasses and setting another canoe on top. Then they floated them out on the water to be devoured by bugs.

There's shite on video that bends that mind what the human body can endure. Humans are simultaneously fragile and horrifically enduring.

Blood Eagle

Captors would cut and open large flaps of skin and muscle from their living victim's back and then sever the ribs from the spine, opening the ribs out to the sides to form "wings." The torturer would then complete the ritual by pulling out the victim's intact lungs and laying them over the extended ribs.
They were often hung from a tree or other object with cords tying open the "wings" for public display.

This was done while alive; at which point they died is unknown.

Hit that tender spot between thumb and index finger on the edge of your countertop mid stride. Tears.

Burned alive.

Boiled alive.

Slow sulfuric acid bath.

Drawn and quartered.

I mean the list goes on and on if you start evoking the inquisition days.

How about the brazen bull?

Being impaled through the rectum, with the weight of your body slowly driving the stake deeper in.

Shark.

Being skinned alive is horrendous. I won't be able sleep now. Thanks.
