The Vlad the Impaler method seems pretty awful.

I imagine shock would set in a bit.
My nightmare is being trapped in a body, paralyzed and non communicative, but feeling constant pain. Everyone is working to keep you alive, but all you want to do is die. Year after year of tortuous pain and only your thoughts to keep you company.

I read in Mid-Evil times a common torture technique was called "receiving the shaft". This was being slowly shafted all the way up the arse with a long sharp wooden stick. I'll let your imagination do the rest of the visualization.

I thought getting Medival meant getting a couple brothers to come over with some pliers and a blowtorch to take care of Zed.

Impaling ... up the arse with a dull spike or pike and left to die slowly as gravity pulled your body down, the spike or pike ripped your arse apart and slowly worked its way up into your body cavity.

Thus, Vlad the Impaler.

Or having to watch The View. I think I'd take being skinned alive.

My ex wife and I had an agreement, if I was ever in a coma, she had to blow me once a day. If in 365 days I hadn't woken up, pull the plug.
