I mean, BRPD can’t be that useless, right?
i seem to recall reading in the thread about allison rice's murder that brpd didn't even contact business owners for possible video until 3 weeks after she was killed...

I would be looking in trash bins and alleyways from 3rd Street, heading East to 7th Street, all between Convention and Florida
Red color = Irish pub
Green color = his hotel (Courtyard by Marriott)
Blue color = 2 ATMs on direct path towards phone discovery and greyhound station
Purple circle = appx where city worker found the phone

If you can't make that walk safely Baton Rouge is fricked. I find it hard to believe with all those businesses not a single one has a camera.

This is why somebody needs to tell this poor woman she's going to have to get some other boots on the ground over here. BRPD/EBRPSO can not solve crimes here anymore.

It's really not very dangerous at all. I mean I wouldn't venture to far out of downtown, but downtown itself is pretty dead on weekdays and on weekends there are police all over. I mean, shite there is literally a police station on the 2 block route from Happys to his hotel...
There are tons of homeless addicts downtown - plenty are ex criminals, plenty are current criminals - they cause A LOT of trouble, downtown was okay but it wasn’t necessarily ‘safe’ when I worked down there 8-9 years ago - I doubt it’s gotten better
Good luck with getting that police station to answer a call if you are in trouble

Hmmmmmm...there's some hidey holes and vacant areas I'm going to look at in that area.
All of the scenarios in my head are pretty grim right now.

Sounds like you are on your own in BR these days if you need any help from authorities.

I have made that walk numerous times alone before, so that literally could have been me or someone I know.
I have a friend who used to live on Louisiana Avenue and we would drink at Happy's all the time. At the end of the night, I would walk to my car and he would stagger home drunk. I used to always kid him that I was afraid he was going to get butt-raped by a homeless dude on that walk one night--but apparently something even more sinister than that is possible

Yea I don’t see a positive outcome here for this guys family.

I mean if you drop off the face of the Earth and then some black dude shows up using your debit card...It's pretty obvious what happened.
Since nobody heard anything, probably stabbed to death and had his buddies dump the body.

The chances of this dude being alive are almost nil.
The best hope is that his body is discovered and the family can have closure. And I doubt that happens anytime soon with the leadership and policing we have here.

H&E is going to blame St George for this just because.

So this guy has been missing for a week? Where is the BRPD press conference?

Sounds like they are working government hours on this case since they have only received ONE video so far.

Seems somewhat easy for them to put together a timeline to release. They know he left Happy’s at 11:30pm. They know when ATM withdrawals were and hopefully those locations. They know where his phone was found. A timeline and location of the ATMs would be a huge help so people could actually help search….
Just seems like if he was murdered, it would have happened in the blocks leading up to where his phone was ditched. Someone kills him, takes his phone and dumps it a few blocks away so they can’t exactly locate the body.

Yeah this doesn't seem like it's going to end well. Any other scenarios seem extremely unlikely. I'm just surprised his body hasn't been found yet.

Why?
Why have the businesses not turned over the camera footage? I'm guessing maybe the businesses are owned by people of the "I didn't see shite" mindset

Wouldn't the person using the debit card need his pin?
This makes me believe he was alive when they used the card and then taken somewhere else, murdered and the body hidden.
