Jesus, as opposed to what?
I would guess that the story of what ultimately went down could be varying...the guy could have died yesterday or he died a week ago...the level of decomposition will inform that.

How far away from the bus station was he found?
Bus Stop is roughly 2 miles south of where they apparently found him on Scenic Hwy, near Chippewa.

is there a cause of death yet? IF it is a gun shot, stab, or blunt force trauma should be obvious without lab work etc.?

This is why having a solid migo coke plug is worth its weight in gold

Could be the same murderer. Targets vulnerable people to rob at ATM?
I think it is a reasonable question to ask, especially since the body is found roughly 12hrs after the guy is taken into custody.

The guy was found 7 hours ago so they likely know if it was homicide or not already.

It’s likely he got some tainted coke and OD’d. It happens, quite often these days.
So does murder in Baton Rouge

Glad he's been found. Feel terrible for his wife and kids though. GOnna be a rough ride for them for a minute.
Will BRPD issue some sort of presser on this? Will be interesting to know if he OD'ed or was kilt.

Murders in BR are often targeted attacks. Rarely are murders random.

I don't know if he was murdered or if he OD'd....but him being wrapped up in plastic and dumped in the Exxon Green Belt behind a Jack in the Box is kind of fricking weird.
Honestly him being dumped anywhere kind of lends this to not being TPOS's that killed him.
This is from the Kiran article (she does great work and is usually 100% right. When she's wrong, she corrects herself):
It's not unheard of for someone to panic after they realized that a "guest" or friend OD'd in their apartment. So those of you that suggested that he ran away or was on a bender somewhere in secret might be right.
The stats are kind of in the favor of the people who speculated that.
The OD problem has grown so much nationwide in he past decade. It was worse in the mid west first, but now it's sweeping the south with fury. Far more people die every year in Baton Rouge now from overdoes than from being murdered. That's especially true of people who look like this victim if we are being honest with ourselves.

Yup. My now deceased brother was a drug addict who ultimately died of OD 2 years ago. Terrible way to go HOWEVER, one time he OD'ed his friends thought he was dead and threw a bunch of towels over him......so perhaps this is what happened to Nathan.
I believe it would be easier on the wife and kids if he OD'ed vs getting murdered but we're not in her shoes to know.
Tragic ending to this baws life and hope it serves as a reminder that drugs are bad mmmk

He did quite a bit of moving around that night before whatever happened, happened.
UWK Story
I wonder if the phone (and wallet) was dropped or whatever happened with it before or after the bus station.
Also, at what other ATMs was the card used after the bus station? Stories indicate it was used even later than that transaction, but I don't think we've been told where.

And then the
Person who robbed him then went to the bus station to use his card.

How do you think he ended up where he was found? Someone drove him? My BR geography is a bit foggy so how far from Happy's is it to where he was found? 2-3 miles?

I'd say no way he walked north.

This is where WBRZ said he was found. I am no expert, but with the shady people in that area, it would seem someone would have been in this covered area at some point in the last week.

This is a confusing, weird story IMO. If it's murder, it's definitely not a typical case that you normally see in Baton Rouge. If it's not a domestic violence situation, it's almost always black on black crime - often involving some thug that's killing someone else in their circle.
Some really weird things about this:
- Typical urban thugs don't normally wrap up and dump bodies anywhere, much less a few blocks off the highway on the way to the airport.
- It's extremely rare in any place for a white male in their 40s to be murdered and dumped like that. It's more common for female victims. Those of you in Baton Rouge during the Derek Todd Lee era have heard the stories.
- It's really damn weird that the guy somehow disappeared between Happy's and the Marriott. Both are on third street, and they are less than two blocks apart. Some of you complain about crime in Baton Rouge - but the likelihood of someone being picked up in the space of two blocks downtown on a weeknight while bars are still open is REALLY slim.
- Armed robberies don't usually involve killing someone and dumping their body. If the victim is shot, they are usually just left right there where it happens.
- The ATM activity near the Greyhound station is damn strange for someone who didn't get on a bus. Almost like it was intentionally done as a diversion.
- It's not impossible that he OD'd at a friend's apartment or hotel room and they got rid of him in a panic.

Correct. And all OD’s aren’t being reported in the news so I don’t think many realize how rampant it is in BR. I would bet cops are responding to a few calls a day.
Anyone see the article the other day of the Keep Tigertown people finding a stash of medical grade drugs like propofol under the Siegen underpass?

Yeah that's too far to walk. And it's a weird route on foot. You'd have to know where you are going, and he was from out of town.

What did the article from the OP say when you clicked and read it?
