I wonder if the guy he was meeting at the job site was from Baton Rouge, if so I would assume he would have warned him about which areas of downtown he should avoid.
Isn't the guy from Atlanta? He should be able to see characteristics of a downtown area that appear safer than others. This is a grown-arse man, not a 16 year old.

Why not release the video/picture from the ATM.
Too many details still being withheld.

Is this implying that the guy and Nathan were together, either out of Nathans's free will or not, or is it just a guy getting money out of the ATM, and Nathan can be seen waiting his turn?
It is a little confusing on timeline especially when it follows a paragraph saying no sightings of him after leaving Happy’s.
quote:
It is known that Nathan visited Happy’s Irish Pub on 3rd Street and Convention St. and is believed to have left the pub, on foot, at approximately 11:30 PM to return to the hotel. His phone and wallet were found discarded several blocks away, but there have been no sightings of him.

Actually, he's from Walton County (about halfway between Atlanta and Athens). It's a far cry from big city there, so I don't imagine he was too up to date on his "big city crime radar" settings.
It's kinda hard for me to preach the gospel of LSU to the folks over this way when Baton Rouge has become such a hell-hole lately. Do y'all not even know how to tame and corral that colorful culture of criminality any more?

Police said on Wednesday, March 1, that video shows he was last seen walking away from the downtown Baton Rouge area the evening he disappeared. They added camera footage is being reviewed to help determine where he went.

The missing man’s wife, Amber, also said police were able to find his wallet at the Greyhound bus station on Florida Boulevard. She said his credit card was in the wallet but not an ID.

Some more spots on scenic checked turned up nothing, but I'm working with extremely limited info so that doesn't surprise me. I don't suspect they went this far up, and without some crucial details these are just shots in the dark which I doubt are gonna turn anything up.
If they aren't releasing more info for a reason, they need to quit with the bullshite games and state the reason.
If it's because of politics then they deserve the full fury of whatever the court of public opinion can muster.
There is more info out there.

That dude was probably dumped in the Mississippi.

That's a very key detail that they are leaving out.
If he was walking from Happy's to his hotel we are talking about roughly 1 block. One does not need to "walk away from downtown" to get from that point A to point B.
So either this is shitty journalism (very possible), or there are details being left out of where exactly he was when he was seen "walking away from downtown". Because if he were "walking away from downtown" on his own we are talking about several blocks either north, east or south of Happy's.

Indeed. There's more and more weird shite turning up on this one.

Fair enough. Drove through Walton County plenty of times to get back home to Athens when we lived there. You are right - not a lot of "big city" around Monroe, GA.
I hate to speculate but it seems like the extremes are the most plausible - he intentionally disappeared or he got caught up in some shady shite (whether he went looking for it or not) that pulled him away from downtown.

Just my hunch but he's either missing on his own effort or the search should be centered down the river a ways.
This is what I am thinking as well.

No they don’t. This is an active investigation

A little tipsy, unfamiliar city, late at night. He gets turned around, pretty soon he's in a sketchy area.

So I haven't followed this thread, but:
He was with another man at the ATM that night, and that guy was talked to and released
And later his wallet and phone are found...
weird?

You're dealing with the same jackasses that spent a month calling the Moscow PD incompetent while they tracked a suspect and developed what appears to be an air-tight case.
ETA - I'm not arguing that BRPD is competent, just that their priority doesn't need to be appeasing internet Karens who insist they need to know more about the case.
