When i was a teenager, i had a public works job where i had clean up dead animals of all sorts off the side of the road. I also had to remove mountains of crab hulls from illegal seafood dumping. All of this under the hot august sun.

Kind of sucks for them. No one is happy when they are dealing with a tow truck driver. Either your car unexpectedly crapped out or he is taking your car against your will. Either way, never a good mood

I worked for a couple summers driving a flatbed wrecker for my grandparents auto shop. We only towed people who broke down and wanted their vehicles brought to the shop for repairs, or point A to point B jobs. We also were on the city, county, and state police rotations for accidents and such. We never did any predatory towing and never any repo work... but I’d say they called at least 3 times a week trying to get us to repo stuff.
I hauled tractors, fairway mowers, old boats, engine blocks, trailers etc. on top of your standard cars and trucks...and one time a BIG arse 80s conversion van. You would be surprised how nice people were to me...I guess if I had been sitting beside the road for a couple hours in the heat, I’d be happy to see me too. I actually kind of enjoyed it. Interesting job for a 18-19 year old kid. Learned A LOT about problem solving.
